mm look like only Toby understand the provocation,,
Maybe time for a license? Maybe would make it safer with more in depth instructions, more expensive, quality instead of quantity?
sorry but the reality is Iko standard dont work,,,for sure iko teacher its great teacher and professionals 100x100,, but the standard used its not,,
maybe time x license,,,like all the other sport,,, depth instructions mean more expensive,,,
the choose is more quality(safe) around or not ,,,
nobody want stop people go kiting,,,everybody can drive car but need license,,,like scuba like parachute like all thing that can be dangerous not only for u but expecially for people around on the beach

An international standard for training would be good...although they do already follow a similar syllabus from what I can see. Boycotting kite schools would just push more cowboys onto the water...imho. Clearly, no one is a 'kiteboarder' after 2 or 3 days instruction. But if the school has done its job they should be relatively safe to be around on your local beach and that's got to be a good thing as we've all caught a newbie putting up 'a big kite in a big wind...'
As for other sports I've know people who bought para gliders and hang gliders off eBay then threw themselves off the nearest big hill without reading so much as a flight manual. People do stuff like that so it is unrealistic to expect kite surfing to be immune. I've even known people to fly light aircraft untaught / unlicenced (sometimes for years).
I think the problem here is congestion. I don't like to be out with too many other kiters...so I try to go to beaches where there is more space. I know it isn't everyone's cup of tea but I also like light wind kiting (with a big speed 3 or similar beastie) for the exact reason that there will be fewer folks on the water. I call these my 'Sunday go to church days' because it is so peaceful. As for exclusivity price is the driver there...as the buggers are a little bit expensive. At the other end howling gales attract very few newbies beyond those that are really committed or crazy enough to join the tribe...
I'm afraid we all just have to pick our time, spot, and conditions to suit. That includes the population of our spot. If we bring the licencing mob into the sport they're just as likely to ban it outright in places as they are to regulate it effectively. Be careful you don't get what you wish for with a result that you don't want (i.e. you being excluded from the sport).
Fly happy and safe folks and leave the griping for in the bar later...

NO MORE NEW KITEFORUM USERS TYPING WITH PROPER GRAMMER There are too many people coming here with English as their second language. They can not type properly and it's making my fucking head hurt. This needs to stop. This forum is filled with people trying to make some unintelligent point with incomprehensible text. BOYCOTT SCHOOLS!! There is no room here for these halfwits. Cut it off at the source. If you haven't learned yet, why learn now? learn another language. The alternative is... GO FUCK YOURSELF ltdsurf wrote: time to boycott the kiteschool... no more place worldwide to kite,,, so many new kiter with only 6 hrs experience, the shit 200 euro kite course standard more danger for all,, need to change now before its too late ,,

Relax, it is an international forum with the majority not english natives. And normally we all can understand what someone tries to say, and that is what counts! If your English is perfect, be happy, not everyone has that luxury or privilege.

the alternative its we all stop kite becouse new law against kiter and too busy spots... Restricting posts on the ability of the poster to communicate effectively in English. Hmmm...now there's a rule my old English teacher would agree with....'grammatical jackboots'. Soon there will be a 'youth movement' where everyone has to wear the same board shorts, fly an approved kite, use a 'regulation board', and shun anyone who can't do a one handed Moby dick over the top to blind thingamajig... I personally find kiting relaxing but it does seem to have the opposite effect on others... Relax guys and gals...! Get off the forum and do some kiting. I've got an excuse...in a stonking cold and I'm working anyway...

I don't actually feel that way at all. I was just responding to his ridiculous claim with another that is just as absurd.
really? the kiteboading community as a whole should boycott lessons, tell people who want to learn to fuck off, because this guy made an arbitrary decision that his beach is full.
quite the juxtapose to the now popular topic "This is going to be something Big!" and becoming "legit."
