Polish rider about to beat Guinness World record in kitesurfing

Polish rider Maciej "Zimas" Zimowski plans to beat kitesurfing Guinness World Records in„The longest kite surfing journey“ discipline. Current record: 369.7 km / 229.73 statue miles was set in May 2010 by Phillip McCoy Midler (USA))

Zimas will be kiting from Peninsula of Suez Gulf in the area of Adabiya Port (29°50'54.71"N, 32°30'8.96"E) to El Quasir Kalawy Imperial Hotel (26°30'40.92"N, 34°4'11.65"E) in Egypt, close to the coastal zone. Time of the challenge was set on between 20 and 30 June 2012, depending on the weather and wind conditions.

Zimowski is a kitesurfing instructor (11 years experience as a kitesurfing IKO Level 2 Senior instructor) and a founder of RedSeaZone kitesurfing school and Nobile Test Center located in ElGouna, Egypt.

Keep your fingers crossed for Maciej!

Mike, good luck, hope your'e a bit more prepared than the last guy who tried a Red Sea crossing :thumb:
I often wondered if you were still at Red Sea Zone, I was in Hurghada for my ITC in 2005 when you were shadowing Niel Godbold with view to becoming an examiner, when I came up to see your school it was still under construction in parts and it looked awesome back then, looks like El Gouna developed a bit since 2005 eh?
