As you have 2012 FUELs I guess you a top rider and know how to trim a kite right?
So why not pull on depower until the kite is set just nice and then however much depower you've pulled through is the amount the rear pigtails need to be lengthened by. (thereabouts, you might need to micro adjust after that.
Can only agree...
If it is just a simple trim issue, its a piece of cake
But if it backstalls more than the other sizes, when trimmed CORRECTLY - then it IS the 9m2 kite that is more prone to this, than the other sizes
(it happens with all brands, that some sizes are a bit different)
Dont ever expect a bar and kite to be "perfectly" trimmed out of the box, or fit all sizes with EXACT same trim settings - simply not possible
If you are lucky, its fine - but every kiter that rides unhooked with fuels know how to trim a kite I would say, so just trim till it flies like you wish, and adjust lengths accordingly - no big deal
And it might take the backstall out also - so it flies like the others
The thing is - there is a HUGE difference between a simple trim setup error, and a general kite backstall tendency.
Every kite can backstall when trimmed wrong of course - but every kiter with a little experience knows how to trim this away (if the kite can...), I think we can all agree.
But not every kite can be flown deep in the window unhooked, maybe with a bit of slack, without backstalling
And the latter is THE important thing of course, for unhooked freestyle and waves
Hooked riding is a totally different ballgame, where backstalling sometimes can be desired, and it will also typically perform better than those who dont
