After i Noticed the 9M 3G Renegade was way more powerful then i had expected it to be i decided to order a 7M Renegade to complete my quiver.

It arrived Friday night, and my luck was that next morning it was all ready windy enough for it to be tested. Got down to the beach here in Barra Da Tijuca (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil). And I got confused by the wind speed and what people were on. Some were on 9, 10, 11 even saw one or two guys on 14M riding way overpowered.

You know that feeling when you have a new toy and you just have to try it out. Well pumped up the 7M kite and already hearing people behind me commenting , this guy thinks he is gona ride a seven in this wind haha. Well I just wanted to get her up in the air and get a feel. And the surprise party started! I felt that there was enough power in it to at least get a bit of a ride in it even if i had to kiteloop my way downwind I was gona ride this baby today. Got out in the water and jumped on my 132x41cm board. And off I went. Immediately astonished by the light bar pressure and that after some 3 to 4 minutes of riding I noticed I was able to go upwind in this light wind. Im guessing it was blowing 14 to 18 knots.
After 10 minutes I started to try to pull some jumps, backloops and raileys. I was shocked at how easy it was to kite on such a small kite and how light it felt. Now the wind started getting a bit more gusty and I only noticed this since other kites started jelly fishing. My Reneaade 7M felt so stable.

Also yesterday was the first time other kiters asked me what kite is that and may i please try it. Also when I landed it on the beach I could see allot of people come over and look at the kite and touch it and they were all looking at the build construction.

Dimitri and MoMi you guys made a fantastic little kite. I LOVE IT!

My own score card
RELAUCNH: 9/10
BUILD QUALITY : 10/10
Bar Preassure: 10/10
BAR: 7/10
WAVE STYLE: 9/10
FREESTYLE: 7/10
POP: 8/10
WIND RANGE : Are you kidding me here this is un gradable its too good. Setting the new bar for the sport! Competitors here you can learn ( ok the north fuse is allot like this too but not as good )

CHICKENLOOP
I read about people complaining about the chicken loops. I have had many nasty crashes with my 2011 epic kites and at no moment did I find it hard to eject the kite. My problem is getting the loop back together in the waves when they are pounding on me. But I have tried many other chicken loops and they all have there ups n downs. I like the one on epic only thing is i feels its hard to put back after you eject. But I know dimitri is working on a new one. And if you dont like the bar and chicken loop epic uses. Why dont you guys just buy the kite only no bar. I know the Cabrinha, North and slingshot bars work perfect on the epic kites.

10/10 for build quality. Nothing, absolutely nothing on the kite could be enhanced. And people wonder why Epic posters have very little credibility.

Got three solid days of 7M weather in Corpus Christi this weekend.
Good powerful thermal spring wind with big (9-12 foot) waves for Texas.
Was on a 3G Renegade 7M the whole time.
Took the R7 out the first day for a flatwater session and ended up staying out for five and a half hours.
The kite was a pleasure to fly and the bar pressure was comfortable for a nice long session.
Speed of turn on a 45cm bar was quick to say the least, on a bigger bar it was too fast.
Being a surf kite primarily, the turns are supposed to be pivotal, which often translates to gutless,..not so with the Renegade, it turns with nice solid pull through the turn, but is still that quick turn needed for surfing.
My last 7M three strut kite was supposed to be an all arounder that could do surf, ...but the power just died through the turns no matter what, which made it a gutless boring kite for freeriding, no carving around from heelside to toeside for a nice powerful transition. The Renegade does not have that drawback at all, much more fun when you can power through an arcing transition and it spits you out the other side with speed.
The Renegade 7M performed very well for whatever I asked it to do, all weekend.
If you never leave the flatwater, this kite will make a happy camper of anybody who wants great stability, fantastic gust absorption, good solid power with an easy high performance feel.
It also jumps much better than Dimitri ever talks about. The relaunch is also automatic.
There is so much talk about the lift and float of the Screamers that you would get the impression that the Renegades don't jump.....yes they do.
On Friday I ended up way upwind, so at one point I went straight downwind for two miles to get back for a drink of water. I rode straight at this kite the entire time and the kite just drifted back and took me back downwind without a hint of stall, I was laughing at how well behaved it was with what I was doing.
Saturday was in the biggest surf I've been in here on the Texas coast. We have "waves" that don't really do anything other than stand up and flop crashing over, things are totally messy between waves, they don't come in what could be called sets and they are so close together that two waves will often end up two feet apart. Not really surf conditions that most folks get too excited about, but they do provide some challenge. I spend very little time in the surf as a result but Saturday was big and the rest of the crew was out in it, so what the hell.
The Renegade 7M behaved perfectly and was fast enough to pull my butt out of trouble over and over again, plenty of power to pull you away from a beating but can be turned off very nicely when needed. I also dumped the kite three times and it went back up twice before the next wave hit it, the third time it got hit by three waves and then just came back up and off I went.
The kite made me feel confident in conditions that my limited skill set is not equipped for, so I had more fun than expected, which is always a sign of a good performing kite.
We went up to visit Rocky Chatwell's backyard spot on Sunday in Rockport.
My local crew went to his favorite little saltwater inlet, the wind was still (small kite) strong, but the water was super smooth like an ice skating rink, so it was time for everybody to ride close, dice it up and have a jumpfest!
The Renegade 7M is a very easy kite to boost and land with, and makes an intermediate kiter feel like his timing has just improved a couple notches in a half hour.
Dimitri should market the Renegade as a great all around freeride kite that happens to be great in waves, instead of saying it is just his personal wave kite.
It is a better freeride kite than the last three or four all arounders I've tried.
Our normal riding spot is an inland lake with super gusty conditions and nothing but rock as a penalty if you screw up.
The Renegade will handle those conditions with stability, gust eating depower, zero backstall, good speed and power and unexpected jumping ability.
A++ for this one!

Could not agree more on the reviews on the Renegade's

Been having some sweet sessions on them recently on our home beach here in the UK
A customer picked up a 5m and a 9m this day and was gobsmacked he was even riding on the 5m...it was about 17knots but he is a small guy.

Short but awesome session at rest yesterday on my new Epic kite, can't believe I was on a 5 while most others were on 12's, can't wait to try the 9 when I am back down west, thanks to the blast crew for their personal touch in sorting out my new kite quiver, hope to impress the crew down west with these new exciting toys

I was on the 9m on short lines and my fiance on the 7m we were all on surfboards.
