learning on the beach? attach 2 kite leashes in line to kitepump attachment /5th line point and have someone tie it to their wrist standing underneath - you get 15 degrees to play with from ground but you stay safe and learn so much...

No biggie, but no way am I going to endorse fucking around with your kite no matter the size on any beach...
That said, forget grievous injuries for now, there's a more elementary reason
It's just plain rude!!
and that's just for starters, they're so very annoying, stunt kites being even worse: all that wizz wizz crash bs and the salivating newb, o' the horror, nothing worse than a half crazed wiizz adicted
d-wad..."harshing the collective mellow"
(80s term)
above and beyond the good manners thing, and since there are those who haven't had the benefit of a decent upbringing---I would like to suggest you all just think back..
Remember that semi-obnoxious wanna be Hawiian dude that was going to revolutionize tuition?
His idea was not half bad, save for the on the beach; Emily Post; good manners, game ending part for me.
He suggested very--extremely short lines...
I mean really short lines for the unsuspecting initiate .
Hey, not a bad idea at all--Props to him
It's the longer scope (length of the lines) that wangs the unsuspecting into shite, or just plain folks..

Same concept has here... Limit the travel of the kite--although having twice the fleshy annoyance in yo face, seems just a bit more than twice as rude... despite what most of these guys say you can actually power kite on the beach. the world won't end. you just need to be more aware of your surroundings and the wind conditions and be more conservative than on the water. your average kitesurfer is b brainwashed into thinking land kiting is the devil during their lessons when infact its not only possible but there is an entire sport based on it. grab a landboard and give that a shot with you 7m. t up and going on that's very good cross training for the water. the bonus is you can practice it in really light winds that won't get you up and going on the water.

And to the rest of you, I would still like to have an answer to my question, if it make sence in any way. It doesn't make any sence, you will end up hurting yourself but worse is that you could hurt someone else or have a beach closed. GET A LESSON!!!

As long as you keep it off the beach, it's all good with me... The street out front of your Mom's house, a parking lot of your local school, that corn field out on route5 -- have at it..knock yourself the f-out... It's just this idea that the misuse of "on the water gear" right where we need things to look, responsible and in control--e.g. the kite beach is somehow a good idea??? I mean?? what are you thinking? Seriously? you got a be kidding... Want to land kite? go find some land hard enough to roll wheels on... Leave the beach alone---leave the beach being what you should learn to do.. Why? because that's where the trouble lives... Right? right Best Regards carry-on fo plummet wrote: despite what most of these guys say you can actually power kite on the beach. the world won't end. you just need to be more aware of your surroundings and the wind conditions and be more conservative than on the water. your average kitesurfer is b brainwashed into thinking land kiting is the devil during their lessons when infact its not only possible but there is an entire sport based on it. grab a landboard and give that a shot with you 7m. t up and going on that's very good cross training for the water. the bonus is you can practice it in really light winds that won't get you up and going on the water.

> It's just plain rude!!
How come almost every one around here is thinking that all newbies are crazy enough to unroll their lines between beach towels and suntan bathers (or fellow hi-performer been-there-done-that kiters)?
I am an over 40 year old responsible, methodical and technical person that could probably give security lessons some of the wiz around here.
My local beach is 7km wide with only two close point of access. Of course, if I take a thirdy second walk from the parking lot I will be in the crowd. But I usually walk 15 or 20 minutes when I go stunt kiting, which is enough to be all alone there. Well, not counting the occacional nudists!
I have spent half of my trial day with the 7m trying and retrying the safety device on my new gear to get a natural fell of it. And I intend to do this until the engrams are all very well implented. Does everyone giving lessons can predent the same?
I will do take your good advice though that when I have more power (better wind or greater kite), I will practice in the swallow water. And yes, I will take lessons!!!
[EDIT] Sorry, my comment do not apply to every one of you. Thank you so much for you valuable advices!

Folks go to the beach to relax, listen to the waves rake the shore...they bring their children picnic baskets etc.. A loud obnoxious stunt kite is a disruption of the peace= Rude A large unwieldy Kitesurf kite in the hands of a novice is a clear potential threat to life and limb...go somewhere where yo-ass is the only one on the line--so to speak. That's all. What's wrong with those reasons? Thanks fo symont wrote: > It's just plain rude!!

I must be too dumb to understand how can my loud stunt kite obnoxious when there is no one around. People are just to lazy to walk the beach to a point where nobodie goes. Good for me.
You must have a great deal of greaf if you are thinking like this. Or maybe I don't realise that I am priviledge to have a section of beach for myself almost every time I feel like it. I guess it is not the same all around.
