lol. i have skated with someone that had a prosthetic - sometimes when he slammed hard it would fly off and some kids would scream not know what was going on!

Here is my List in order of Happening:

1) 2 Broken Ribs Punctured Lung: Adjuster exploded during a kiteloop. Bar smashed back into my ribs.

2) Turn Muscle Fiber in my Abdominal Muscles. Handlepass. It thought my appendix had burst. Recovery took over 6 weeks and was one of the most painfull things to ever happen

3) Broken middle finger left hand: Kiteloop Handlepass grabbed into the depowerline, the bar then rode up and smashed into my hand.

4) Torn ACL, PCL, Meniscus Left Knee. South Africa smashed into 4m Wave Face with my legs extended.

5) Shoulder dislocated. PKRA Germany 2010. Downwind leg I got a loop wrong and somehow smashed shoulder first into my board. Put a 20cm Diameter hole through the Deck. Somehow during getting smashed into the water a few more times the shoulder popped back in. Was in serious pain, but it sorted itself out very quickly.

6) Herniated Disc L5-S1. I just had the operation 2 Weeks ago, but I have been suffering since November last year. We think it happened from a very hard landing of a Blind Judge 3. After that the sciatica started in my left leg. Turns out after the MRI that 90% of the inside of the disc has protruded and was about to obliterate the nerve root of my left leg.

Event 1/ Rib # from accidental looping while trying to front loop for the first time
Advice: Never try things for the first time, it is very risky

Event 2/ Badly bruised toe from kicking a stone by mistake while playing football at the beach because there was not enough wind...
Advice: Buy a FS Speed 3 15, it will keep you in the water in lightwind days, away from dangerous activities on hard land

Here are my worst ones:

1.) Fractured femur- Port Douglas/Australia
Jumping, left food came accidentally out of strap, right food still in and I couldn't get out quick enough before the landing. The board acted as an extension of my leg. My right foot was then next to my head. BIG pain, 1.5 km's away from the shore, body dragged myself over half the distance to shore until help arrived.
2.) Broken ribs- Yorkeys Knob/Australia
Jumping, I edged hard and over-rotated, kite looped and I smashed down very hard into only foot deep water. Lung punctured, no breathing...the usual story.
The "50 year old" was a lie from my kite surfer friends.


3. Fractured tendons- Yorkeys Knob/Australia
No warm-up prior to kiting, bang...
I'm wearing a vest now and haven't had any injuries since, except a few cuts and bruises. I hope that's it for me!

Kite floating in the water while kite down in the surf. Some how manage the loop my arm in the kite lines while treading water. Wave hits kite tensioning lines and slice my upper arm around my bicep pretty badly. 10 stitches

Jump over sand bank gone wrong landed hard on 2 inches of water badly sprained ankle.

Kiteloop gone wrong slapped onto side ruptured rib cartledge.

Megaloop gone wrong hard landing torn ACL and meniscus requiring surgery. still got 3 more months to go until im back in the water. Gonna take things easy from now on and loose the hell man instinct in me. Not worth the risk!!

Had a nasty ankle crush a couple of years ago. Tried to time floater/air off the lip on my first run out...1/2 second late and the lip crushed me...knees went just past my jaw and ankle took all the impact. Gimpy ankle for a solid year.

Got drug down the beach by my Ar5 in 01' trying to self land. Lost some skin off my shin before i could get the ck loop off(forgot). Next day infection set in...worst pain ever..worse than burn pain even. Ever tried to take a piss with your shin over your head?



Keep it simple stupid!-stack

I broke all my ligaments in my left knee, plus both menisci.
Twisted my knee with one foot in the strap.

This is taken from the 1 hours drive to the hospital.

Must painfull injury in the past 11 yrs of kiting , wip-lash caused by a backroll with a unintentional F-16.

And to think that i got badly injured braking a rib ....
