Here a few pics to explain our problem a bit better (last sunday).
Most of the guys riding directional here also rip on TT, but would not even think of using it in the waves.

Waveriders are like guys who go to a drag-strip then play slalom down the middle of the track during drag races.

... well, that's what they're like on the lake here anyway :D

Not sure if I understand you Kami ?

Do you mean that waveriders spoil the fun for all others, in really small waves when taking up a lot of space going downwind through the pack ?

Or do you mean in general, that waveriders should not have more priority in good waves/wavespots than freestylers ?

Or ?

Whenever the wind gets up, we get "waves" on the lake, perpendicular to the wind (usually) so of course, riders go tacking out across the waves ... the directional guys like to carve them up downwind. They, like everyone else here, have a habit of not looking around before they turn so it's a bit of a crap shoot trying to get upwind sometimes on a straight tack, with surfer dudes gybing downwind like nutters in front of you

Not a huge problem as we're all enjoying the stoke :thumb: we're pretty lucky with a long beach so we can usually clear each other and still have beach downwind. It's just disconcerting to see someone go blasting past you the "wrong" way :D
