Lanc - u said you have been riding Switchblades. I do as well. Can you compare Evo to a switch as far as bar pressure, pop, hang time and wave riding? I am looking for a 12m tube to go with my 10 and 8 switch. Wanted to get something different. I weigh 195lbs and love to boost big and play in the waves.

TonyL - The evo's bar pressure is a lot lighter, but I prefer a slightly heavier bar pressure. Pop I cannot comment on as where I kite there are plenty of waves to boost off. Hang time I would say the Evo gives you more time in the air, but its got a greater drifting back (horizontal pull) while in the air. The switchblade sucks at waveriding which is why I have my Nomads, Evo compares equally well to the nomads on the waves. In the end I still think the Evo is a great all round kite and I am still debating with myself whether to get one, maybe in a smaller size to replace one of my 9m nomad. I also tried the 2012 sb 12m the other day, though in slightly lighter wind 8-12kn and the sb had a lot more low end and I did not have to work the kite to get power, sadly there were no waves that day to test and compare jumping or waveriding.

Lanc - thank u. I want light bar pressure and yes, the switch is not good in the waves. Not sure about the drifting you are taking about - you mean, it needs to be forced more forward when landing jumps? Sounds like I need to try one before buying.

No forcing forward required. I meant while in a stable jump, kite at 12'oclock there is a distinct down-wind (horizontal) pull with the Evo while on the way up to the apex of the jump. I'm used to only a vertical pull throughout the jump. The Evo brings you down very softly.

Cab SB higher bar pressure than an EVO? Lot more low end than the EVO? This doesnt sound like the Evo and Switchblades I know.
