What is the preferred method for launching the 19m Riot in light wind? Is there a video showing how it is done? I like my Ozone Zephyr, but it is difficult to roll up on a kite tip for launch in wind under 10. I'd consider a Riot 19M LW if it was easier to get in the air. Thanks for any info.

Sorry no video
Self LW launching in 8-9-10 knots the 19 like you do the Zephyr technique would yield pretty close results or same

To roll on a tip is nearly impossible IMO in such LW conditions with large kite like 17-18-19M

I leave my 19 on its back during the whole set-up and launch process
The kite is lined up with wind flow..... (trailing edge parallel to wind flow)
Windward wingtip leading edge weighted down with either sand in kite or (i put partial amount of a sandbag on LE section)

I launch by positioning myself at a 45 degrees from trailing edge and walk quickly backward holding bar out
The kite will then peel off the beach starting from the leeward wingtip then just fly up from beach into the wind window

Works every time for me no matter how light the wind at the surface......this technique can work with any size kite also

Nice video Ricardo
I think his question was about self launching from the beach and not about how to water relaunch
In first part of movie the 17M rider has clearly an assistant to help him launch

I explained what i do in LW to launch
I guess he could "stake" his kite on it's wingtip to launch himself if there is enough wind to keep the kite vertical
I have tried that way and sometimes by the time you get to bar and attach yourself the kite falls down :-?

There is a water relaunch later in Ricardo's video. Thanks Ricardo. I have to launch in the water. If the kite will stay on its tip, I'm in good shape. Otherwise I've got to work the kite and wait on a gust to launch, or I can hot launch.
