I am looking at buying myself a 12m RPM 2012, but having read all about the fact that there is very little difference between the 10 and the 12, I am a little nervous about the real low end of the 12.

So, what would you say is there real wind range of the 12? Im more interested in the low end ie. how much wind to stay upwind on a TT. I know this isnt a LW kite, but it will be my biggest kite, so I need to know.

Thanks

I have about 15 sessions on my new 2012 12m Rpm this season. I weigh 185lbs, ride fresh water and bought it to replace my 11m Octane. I ride the 12 on my 134 tt between 19 up to 27mph. My light wind kite is a 13 rev and there is a difference for sure between the two and its more than one sq meter.

So you weight 83 kgs, and you need 16,5 knots to ride the 12m??? Im surprised! I own the 9m and with 16 knots i can do some tricks and jumps with the 9m, and i weight 75 kgs (board 135cms)

Im interested in knowing it too, but i doubt is 16 knots!

I have both the 10 and 12. There is very little difference in range between the two. Maybe a knot or two at most.

I suggest you go with a 14m Rally as your bigger kite.

I'm 160lbs and ride a 134X42 twintip most of the time. I can get going in about 13kts on the 12m, but I'm not having too much fun.

13 knots isnt too bad...

What about a 14m RPM? What is it like? Too slow? What kind of wind range are we talking?

I ride mostly unhooked, so I dont think that I will go with the Rally.

Go for the 14m RPM and the 10m RPM..
The 14m is rly nice for unhooked kiting in 10-15knts

and i can ride my 10m RPM from 14knts..

132x41 bord, me 75kg

7-10-14 is a good RPM quiver.

10 knots is really pushing it.
