Airush News:
Introducing the Airush 2013 CollectionWe have spent another year infusing our passion for kiteboarding and design into our new product range. The outcome – as we hope you’ve come to expect – is a new level of attention to detail, refinement and real innovation. Building on the success of key kite models such as the Lithium, Varial –X and Razor, we have evolved the products as much as possible for 2013, while making significant steps in further developing the Smartbar. Introducing a completely new model to our surf range with the Cypher, we worked with Bear Karry to combine his love of strapless riding and surfing into a model t hat excels in the real world of light winds or less-than-perfect wave conditions. This is complemented by our new dedicated Wave kite, featuring our groundbreaking Aramid Load Frame which combines key flying characteristics not found in the market before. Three years ago when we introduced the first Sector, we had some idea of the potential of this market. This scene has exploded and we have been able to evolve the carving and race side of the directional market simultaneously. Lead by our teams’ passion for freestyle as the cutting edge of expression, we now introduce an evolution of the FS team and Razor team (featuring the Aramid Load frame) alongside an all-new Livewire – as the new breed of wakestyle. Ultimately every product has its highlights, tweaks and changes to add to your riding experience. We look forward to sharing another year of stoke. Enjoy the new collection. yes, ones weight is so lite, if you can turn it upward it'll climb up no matter how slow wind is!
but i really hope the Lithium One 16 will have sufficient wing profile for the slow free ride. because there are too much options for the lite weight riders gear next year, i guess, and not for the real world riders.
sorry to see really only two kites out of the six are the really potent kite with the wing profile capable to move the real world riders, not just the teenagers.
i don't know why it became so popular, probably the market is too slow to react, but those impotent low profile wings are continuing to emerge all over the kite market. they call it high performance, but in reality it sucks in almost every aspect of aerodynamics.

from my point of view, from old reactors on to now, the lower profile fast high performance airush kites rock. And that16m one strut would be a nice tent for a shady break between sessions, too...

tnx for building a 100% wave kite! Got 3 sessions with the 9m and it has it all what I want. Fast turning, lowend, depower, light (total feeling, light pressure on the spreaderbar). The kite climbs very easy to 12 in critical light wind conditions. Kite stays stable and have a nice drift low in the wind window. Very nice constant controlled power for strapless riding. Lift and hangtime is not that aggressive like the Razor and VarialX, but more like a intermediate kite, good to play around with your twintip if I not riding the surfboard. Looks like the kite was designed for me! Can't wait for the 6m and 12m!

Hi Eree, So are you saying the bigger guys are feeling left out? How big are we talking? Have you seen an American teenager lately? Compared to the 2012 range Airush added the 16m Lithium One and the Varial X in a 14m based on the demands from the market. Also, there has been a trend of going towards bigger boards and smaller kites which is perhaps why we haven't heard major feedback of going bigger bigger bigger in the kite sizes. BUT we will take this feedback to the drawing board! What is your real world conditions and weight? Cheers Schmidy

I actually found it had decent boost - not as rocket like as the Razor, but you go a fair distance on it and it is all very controlled. It unhooks well and if you stuff up it won't kick your ass - such an easy kite to have fun on, but still involved and rewarding enough for an advanced kiter.

I liked my session on the 9m Wave too, though I also had a go on the 8m VX and it was even more impressive than last year - these two are very different kites tho..
I am getting some excellent feedback from Razor team and especially the Wave. Looking forward to reading kiteworld's test and getting a 6m in my hand...
Also looking forward to trying the Livewire when it lands.
Also - Cypher.. near the same as the bottom end of the Choptop, but feels a significant amount smaller, and by christ does it have bite. It may not be the long fast turn of the converse, but short snaps were overpowering my legs.. and it was just as capable in a straight line as the choptop. Impressive board!

Mike can you comment on the difference in the VX on the 8m with the flatter profile this year than last? ( eppo here from WA here, westozzy name on this forum. Ride the VX on your advice and stoked).
