What Kent did on FB is no better than Nevin posting old pics. I say they're both idiots, and knowing Kent's role in both sports, he's a douche for treating his customers like that. Dude has all the resources in the world and look at how he uses them- A classic example of what is wrong with this sport.

Mentioning Kent's name and "preserving access" in the same post is going to bring up the fact that he back doored the Miami locals and purchased the concession (access rights) for Matheson Hammock. That is not a sign of "working together" in my book. If that's not exactly what happened ( a retailer purchasing access rights), I'd sure love to hear your version.

Does he, or any other manufacturer/ retailer, have bids in on other kite spots?

It's funny to hear you guys whining about Nevin's use of press releases to get his message across. Isn't that exactly how IKA was formed? (yep) I followed the evolution of IKA closely and documented it on this forum, let me know if you need links to those threads.

Kent and and his Cab posse were aligned with the IKA ex-windsurfer Schwendner before Cab realized that kiting in the Olympics could mean more choices than a Cab board/kite. Everybody involved is in it for money, not that this is wrong, and not for some altruistic reason.

well, will be interesting to see if kiting stays. I thought it was very unlikely to be removed in November vote but actually think there is now a small possibility that windsurfing will be reinstated and kiting out.

Whatever happens a lot of people will have learnt a lot about other people's real motives/ loyalties where they did not have that knowledge previously , very good and very bad.

The ISAF/ Olympics people are not on my Christmas card list this year for simply letting the US get 3 votes - how does that work?!

Windsurfers and kiters should not be involved with ISAF whatsoever IMO as they do not have their best interests at heart - "it's good for sailing" though! lol

Better get some course boards sold now in case the hype bubble bursts!

Nice one SupaEZ
I would rather watch those talented Artist Pole Dancers like on the video & pick,
than what those boring wimps are doing on a limited discipline Pole Boarding course
Maybe Nevin should be watching it also and coming out clean, learning from the past mistakes :duh:
Recently I just converted my old Olympic Lechner's Div. II to a cool paddle board,
which is easy to drive through the water since I have the balance for the round bottom
Who knows, maybe it will be a secret weapon for light wind kiting :?:

When I learned to kite back in 2003, my buddies that were veteran windsurfers told me that kiting was lame because all we did was reach back and forth all day . . . . .

Fast forward to 2012, while racing in 35 knots and big waves at Crissy, there are a lot of reasons to be a bit nervous. Without a doubt, the most dangerous situation out there is the several dozen windsurfers reaching back and forth right in the center of our course, when I am doing 30 knots straight downwind!! Its like we are crossing the Maginot line. My how times have changed . . . .
