Ok so i got the info for you guys on the new 2011 Slingshot RPM

First impressions and all the talk be for the kite was shown to anyone, Was that the kite would be the same. Why change a kite that was so good in 2010?
Well i can tell you there has been change first impressions you may think not but when you look closely your see.
I have put some images below with both 2010 and 2011 Slingshot RPM.
first most of you will know Slingshot have added split strut to the kite see the photo below...
Image
But what you may not know is that Slingshot have put a lot more tension on the canopy of the RPM and made the kite a little deeper in the profile this with the tighter canopy gives the kite a little more low end and much better stability in the light winds.
See the difference between the Orange RPM (2010) and the White RPM (2011)
You can clearly see the canopy tension is very different. (about 2")

The Structs are very ridged when compared to the 2010 RPM and the shape of the structs at the trailing edge are very different... see below
Image
As for the Slingshot RPM 2011 pannel layout there is 3 more panels in the 2011 RPM adding to the build quality of the RPM.
Before the Slingshot RPM in 2010 did not like low winds too much, But in 2011 the kite is much better in the lighter stuff.
Also the bridle has been moved just slightly, The Freestyle attachement has been moved forward a little to increase kite speed in that setting, so your see even more of a difference in the two settings (Freestyle & Wakestyle).

KITELOOPS everyone is asking the same question whats it like?? Slingshot Fuel etc etc...

The Slingshot RPM of last year 2010 had a huge amount of forward pull on the loops for that sick out stretched look on the loop.
This year it has a lot more upward pull, maybe due to the movement of that freestyle setting? but the kite really Wang's you off the water and gives you plenty of hight.
Both kites were tested with 25mtr lines and the same bar on the same day.
do you like the look of the new 2011 Slingshot RPM... I KNOW I DO....
I will add more later... im off on a road trip.. :bye:

I want one... no, two :)

The shot of them side by side is great, the canopy looks real taut - should be a killer kite.

Changes like these take time for R&D etc ... no dramas the 2010 RPM is sick.

Shy, why did SS skip the spilt strut in it's kites for the past couple years? I seemed like a great feature when you brought it out in 2004. Then when the bridled kites came a long you guys steared away from it for a while. Was it cost? Did it take some time to figure out how to make it work in the SLEs? Just curious. Nice to see it back. I like it on my Rally...
