I cannot do front in back in one...unhooked it is possible.
But I am strictly hooked ;-)

When you self launch and land you are aware of the dangers.

I am talking about another kind if people, you find at kite centers!

And everyone has their way if power, conditions etc., but many didn't pay attention to little things.
I just want to have less fatalities and hope postings like this make people think more about it.

If I unhook my IDS will not work

It is easy to set up a bar, where the kiter can launch and land "hooked in", and not have to hit any kind of safety release, in order to throw the kite to its safety... just let go of the bar and the kite goes to its mini-fifth line safety. About the only thing the kiter would have to give up in order to use this system is the ability to do un-hooked riding, and the ability to spin the bar... not a bad trade-off ( some convenience for safety) for the ability to better control and safely launch and land the kite, "hooked in".

What is dangerous to one person might not be dangerous to another. It's all perceived risk. I had a guy try to let the air out of my kite one time after asking him for a launch he said I was rigging to big. I grabbed my kite as he was about to pull the dump valve. Self launched and was perfectly powered.
