I have posted here a topic few months ago about Gopro backpack mount to get your initial inputs.
Since then we have been designing and testing several concepts and we believe we are close to the final one.

Without getting to technical details, this mount will enable you to get great gopro (or similar camera) shots from almost endless positions and angles by changing angles of several joints along the system tubes. Once you lock these joints, the system becomes very rigid providing excellent image stability.

The system can be sold with a custom made backpack or can be adjusted to your backpack (under some requirements). We estimate selling price at around $90 (some parts in the system are quite expensive) excluding the backpack.
In the following link you can see 2 possible shooting angles. The video was just trimmed from the original recording, no real editing.

Before we invest significant amount of money, moving from R&D prototype to production, I would like to get your inputs for such a product. Would you buy one? Any specific features that you would like to see? Any safety concerns?

Many thanks for your feedback

nice! the main requirement for me to buy such mount would be:
- a solid and also flexible connection between the arm and the backpack
- it should be easy to disassemble and foldable.

i´ve already built a few similar backpack mounts. started with some modified wishbone booms and now i am using RAM Mount components.
works quite well, too. but it´s still a compromise between stability and flexibility.

90usd sounds like a good price to me. even a qualified backpack is more expensive. you should build and sell them! good luck!

Yeah, that would sell at that price granted that the backpack isn't a whole lot more. Will you be selling direct to consumers are using a US importer?

Thanks,
Droffats

Thanks for your inputs. Per the questions asked:

Q - Can the angle be changed while riding?
A - Depends where you position the camera. If it is on your side or on in some angle in front , you can change some of the angles during riding, assuming you don’t have short hands. If the camera is behind you cannot reach the joints during riding.

Q - it should be easy to disassemble and foldable.
A - It is. Takes few seconds to fold the system in such a way you can store it in the backpack.

Q - imagine if you got the gopro tangled in the lines
A - This is possible if you position the camera in front of you. But if it is behind you or even on the sides chances for that are very slim. During our testing we crashed many times to the water and there was no issue with that. But I cannot say the risk is zero.

Q - Will you be selling direct to consumers are using a US importer?
A - Not finalized yet. I assume that in the beginning we shall sale direct from our web site, but as the product will hopefully succeed we shall look for distributors in the main target countries.

Additional inputs are welcomed
