congratulations to Ariel and Alvaro!

Competition is something different...I am far away from what I can do. But I knew and still try to be a man about it and will try to fight back in the doubles! Just give me wind for my 18 ;-)

But Airstyle is far away of where it should be in competitions. Freestyle is there already, so we need a big push in this discipline, which will take a while.

so inventing your own discipline, getting it listed at an event as a WORLD championships and then getting beaten by people that entered for a laugh hmmmm

didnt work out too well did it? and what is going to change when you are on your 18m? will you suddenly be better than them? or should you hold the event at a lagoon in Brazil and only submit video entries so that only the perfect trick is judged, rather than what you could/couldnt manage in your heat?

i am not hating on you but you blamed conditions and equipment last time you entered a comp over in asia and now its not 18m weather? so whats the story?

Where is the problem?
The guys did a great job!
And if you don't see the big picture and just have your mind on little things, don't blame others!

Alvaro is a great rider and great person, I am happy for him.

And yes, on my 18 and the Brazilian lagoon no one has a chance, I am always ready for a challenge! And why should I train in worse conditions if I can have the best?
I am doing it for fun! So should you! ;-)

Toby question for you.

What are the chances of you single handily getting a competition style added to a comp?

not sure what you mean...

but if it is just me, 0%. If it is a lot more people, 50%.

If you do your own competition you can do anything you want ;-)

Yea you answered my question if it was just you, you're telling me you would have 0% chance to get another competition stream added to the comp right?

How many entered? Was it full?

Just trying to understand what all the fuss is about and some facts.

ask PKRA why there were only 17 men and 10 women registered for the event...

I can only say so much, that I personally took care that the current world champ Alvaro and 3rd Ariel Corniel could enter the competition...

But I promise, that next time things will be different and more professional !!!

PS: don't blame me! :nono:

No, that's not my point.

So there was a new competition stream created for the comp and the stream was booked full with competitors right?

My point is this new competition stream opened and it was booked full of competitors. Personally I like all disciplines in Kite, they all have a distinct form to them and require various different skill levels.

I would even guess allot of the positions in the airstlye where held by freestyle riders right? Give them a break from doing the same old same old. Some of the negative guys have missed the whole point “they entered for a laugh” they had some more fun at the sport they love.

Ah enough said silly thread with too much unwarranted narrow minded hostility

cheers
