Well my last session i had a great session screaming full speed at wave loops and boosting sweetly then catching the next wave back in. They were steep and dumpy head high + sets. On one of those launches i stuffed up and lost the board.
I proceeded to boost high and land right in front of a pitching face.
Thinking this is going to be nasty start to body drag to the beach expecting to get mothered. Except i must be in the perfect location to catch the wave and as the wave breaks i start to body surf the wave. After the wave breaks but i'm going so fast i keep on planing and i burn off the white wash kitebodysurfing my arse to the beach.

I've gota say it was fun. ps wind was cross shore so the perfect angle for powered bodysurfing.

Definitely agree and as an ex-bodysurfer, actually think it's MORE fun than being on a board.

I especially like being able to ride the wave AND being able to breath comparatively easily, but powering through or up the face, getting launched and feeling like a pollaris missile is also great.

Even though a major downside is that in cold water, you get much colder much faster, if it was not for the extreme downwind travel and resulting poor ratio of kiting time to walking, I would have never bothered with a board.

Haha this is so fun. In onshore winds with big waves it's a pain to get the board, so sometimes I like to try to body drag as fast as I can straight downwind through the waves. It's not something we get to do very often since we need to drag upwind to get the board usually. Lots of fun :)
