Maui in November

Postby Bill » Sat Aug 25, 2012 9:13 am

Going for a month. Have 7, 9 and 12m kites but can only really take two. Should I take the 7 & 9m? Will I need a shorty?

Thanks.....

Hi. Generally speaking November is an amazing month for waves! Depending on the climate pattern (el Nino or la Nina) the trade winds should be strong (la Nina) or weak (el Nino); basically in November they blow predominantly from 15 to 35 mph but like I said this depends on the pattern. Last year I rode mainly with the 9 mt. (Naish Park) and a couple of times with the 6 mt. (Naish Bolt). I also went out with the 12 (Naish Park) but only four times in Naish beach, Kihei (Maui Sunset) and Launiopoko (near Lahaina). So if your weight is similar to mine (74 Kg.) you can go with the 9 and 7. And let's say, if necessary, you can always rent a bigger kite (cross the fingers...). When the trade winds are strong I always use a shorty.
I hope this helps.
A big ciao from Italy :bye: .
Carlo

Ciao e grazie

Hi. Sorry everyone but I have to answer in italian to Robertino.

Yes, do not forget your directional! 7,9,11 is perfect! If it gets lighter than that, just go surf! Maui in November... Yes, truly amazing!

Cant wait to see all my buddys on the rock again. Been three years now! Miss you all and Aloha from Seattle! Fly in on the 12th-28th! Look for the Xbow with a mad man going off underneith it!
