Many people like their "bar type/brand" but only want to buy "kite only" (used or new to save :cash:)

Share with the KF audience which mix and match works

Tell what year bar and what year kite you are talking about

We all know that to mix-match the 2 front lines have to start / split at a certain distance from bar

Some bar they start all the way down

Some bar like the 4 lines Core Sensor (virtual 5th) has the low "Y" at 15'6" / 4.7m from bar

The 5 line trust bar by North the high "Y" is at halfway point of the 25m lines & 13.3m from bar

I do not know where is the "Y" height for the Fuse & Neo,Evo 4 lines 24m bar system is

.................So do tell us from what you use and works...and help others who would need to know.......

Give use the measurement of where the front lines start in relation to the bar

Example: can you use a F-ONE bar with a Flexifoil kite etc...etc...explain why in details

This way people who buy kites only will have a reference before they buy and know it works

I fly my north kites only with my north bars.

I have a SS Rev 2 that I fly with a 2009 LF bar with the CPR upgrade kit installed as the 09 LF safety system was complete shit. This combo works very well.

I also use another shorter LF bar with a Best Guroo 3M for teaching my daughter. This is not the most stable setup when unhooked (transferring the kite to her harness after I have it in the air), but she is not using it unhooked anyway, so no major issues there.

From what I can tell, as long as the flag line(s) are the same (i.e. release to both fronts as a mini 5th or a single front), I don't think there are too many issues with swapping around. I happen to like the LF CPR bars. The below the bar depower is not too bad on the latest generations. I have never had the trim line stick in the cleat so tightly that I could not depower the kite when flying at zenith.

Naish 4 line and RRD 4 line are interchangeable after 09.
Slingshot com stick will work on any 4 line kite that docent need a high Y, (as you can swap the kooks around)

North 5th Element doesn't work with Naish 5 line kites

I met a guy once that was using a North quad control bar on his Cab Switchblade and was happy with the result.

The NORTH 4 line bar with mini 5th works perfectly with the Blade Trigger kites (long attachments - 12m, short attachments 9m)
This is great, as the Triggers are fantastic kites, but the Blade Bar sucks...

Loved my 14M SS rally but wasn't thrilled w/the bar. Started using an Ozone Zephyr bar & made a kite I love into my 1st love, best sex ever kite.

I know a lot of people like the comp stick but I didn't like trying to get the trim line pulled when I needed it. I'm sure it's just something to get used to but the ozone setup is so much simpler & easier to get at(for me). Also this winter when snow kiting SS's white lines suck. Colored lines!! Had to add a set of pigtails to make it work.

I vote that all manufacturers join forces together to help the customers make their personal choice

And come up with a mix/match compatibility chart of all kites /bars out there

For year 2010...2011...2012...and the coming 2013 year

You could have vertically on that chart "all" kites brand / models

And horizontally "all" bars brand models

Then you would simply look up that chart for a particular year and know right away if it would work

It could be like Harmony or Match . com........for "your" perfect marriage
