Is this kite from when wipka was trying their own sizing?
The 8.5 is really an 11m. They were exciting kites

They sized them by the equivalent windsurf sail not actual meters.

so that if it took a 5.0 windsurf sail to get going, you would need the 5 wipika to get going.
that was the idea anyways......

Got a spin with a wobble flup and the kite, incredibly stable and light, this is a friend in action. Rocks upwind in light winds at super low speed. Maybe this was the setup the IKA was talking about in their olympic report lol

from memory an 8.5 wipi was like an 12m naish ar 3.5

I learnt on a 2 line wipika so was an awesome revisit! Gonna go freestyling on it next

Classic! There's a whole new industry... recycling old 2-liners for SUKing!

Wipika were good with their sizes. The size was projected size was it not?
They are still to my knowledge the only pump up company to date that gave the projected sizes of their kites taking into account archform curvature etc. To date as far as I know every other pump up company still just gives out flat size which is still fairly meaningless except in relation to its larger or smaller identical kite model. The only other company I knew to give out projected size/aspect ratio was Flysurfer. Since there were only C`s at the time to get any meaningfull idea wether or not your arse was going to be handed to you on a plate on the day was to compare it to the Wipika actual size to get the projected size for a general idea. Well thats how I did it anyway! Arcs...well who knows, I compared them to C`s for size.
