I've been trying to compare the nugget and the new airush slayer. Some of the Slayer reviews say it's not to good for waves bigger than knee high, because you can't turn it fast enough. How big of a wave is the nugget still fun on?

having fun still in head-high. no worries, just get used to put weight on back foot, otherwise youre in for the washing machine

I just ordered a 2012 Nugget (no 2013 available in my area). I will be able to compare the LW performance with my Fone Fish 5'10". But this Nugget will be perfect for airplane trips. I now have four surf boards, man this thing is addictive

Don't care about graphics enough to have any bearing on what gear I buy.
$3 can of spray paint can fix that part.
And the graphic is on the bottom, which you don't see while kiting.
The real question is, what it this thing like?

the general shape looks very very similar but would be interested to see the difference in volume.

olnbroken, i put straps on mine at the lake and had a ball. was able to carve it alot better that way but i rarely needed the back strap. usually rode around with front foot strapped only but nice having that back strap for jumping.

looks like that SS board is a good alternative but are wakesurfers built to withstand kiting? seems like yes......

I did not see this board but had been looking at the Nugget earlier this year as an option. I heard great things about the performance but questionable reviews on durability. If this SS Wakesurfer is comparable, all the SS boards I've seen have been pretty bomb proof so this could be good.

Anyone ridden it with a kite yet?

Was interested to go to this link....I thought Slingshot had also stopped making the Reform skimboard, which I have and love, but it turns out they just stopped marketting it to kiters. It is there also, now with new graphics and a full deck pad in the Wakesurf section next to the SP Wakesurfer. Cool.

its even called the "SP" as in sweet potato. from the description it says the v spine is through tail, whereas the nugget/sweet potato the spine almost runs the length of the board.

but i can imagine this would be too far off from the nugget. half the freakin price! argh!

oh well, l do love my nugget.....already replacing the sector.
