foam-n-fibre wrote:What I mean is that when you fold the line over to create the loop, you will start with the line, where it is folded over double, straight and parallel with no twists. Now, when you tie the figure 8 you will probably introduce a twist or two in the lines. Take the time to look at the figure 8 you just tied, and if necessary, work out a twist or two in the two lines, where they might cross over each other somewhere within the knot. It should look super clean if done right.

Does that make sense?

Ahh, now I know.

Splicing is the best way
Use a folded piece of mono-filament fishing line or a large needle as a fid, no need for expensive crap.
This is what I use for my lines, at the bottom of the page is the 500lb test line. Super easy to splice, and at $182.99 for 600yds you cant go wrong.

Look online for splicing guides. Samson ropes has a good guide, look at 12 strand eye splice

Know your units 1 Newton = 0.10195kg of breaking strenght, those CHEAP lines are Cheap because they have 330 lb or 150 kg BREAKING strength. I would not use them for any Powerkiting including my 3m I use in the winter, they would break before your first session was finished!

bro check your units . . .

1 Newton = 0.10195kg of breaking strenght

3200 * 0.10195 = 330 kilograms

330 kilograms = 730 pounds

Anyone know the front line lengths on that switch line set? That's a great price for lines.
