Describe a new trick or a variation that you have invented

OK, this is a typical Plummet post  , hopefully people will be interested and new tricks or variations will appear. Tricks already published on commercial DVDs should be excluded, I guess, the point being to describe tricks or variations which otherwise will never be known. And, yes, it is not windy here so I have nothing better to do...

My contribution is what I call a hooked sliding 360

- Choose a day that you are decently powered on flat water
- Gain speed on a crosswind - slightly downwind direction
- Very gently get a bit of lift by keeping the kite high and pulling the bar gently (the lift should be just enough to allow the board to slide)
- Look over your front shoulder (like you do for a backroll) and rotate standing up, a pirouette sort of movement
- The board should rotate flat on the water surface by sliding a full 360 degrees
- Keep the speed, exit with speed, edge, done

On choppy water one can do a variation: leave the tail of the board in contact with water while the front of the board is lifted by the front foot (bent knee). In this way the board rotates on a nearly vertical position while the body, again, stays upright, the tail marking a line on the water like on a dark slide.

No leaning back, no pop, no kicking the back foot, no airtime, no video, sorry... Feels nice, looks nice for my taste, easy for intermediate middle aged kiters like myself 8)

From what I read and assume this has been done already many years ago.
Like a surface 360?

I could add a long list of tricks now, but they will be on a commercial DVD so that won't count ;-)

I didn't know it has been done and seen but I should have expected it  , it is so simple... anyway it was new to me, never seen it on videos or live! :)
...and yes, you have your DVD! but give us one that is not on the DVD!

when we go on group trips we try to invent a "gag" trick that nobody (our group, and possibly no one else has) this last obx trip it was the flying squirrel. no hands on the bar throughout a backroll (both take off and landing) while grabing both the tip and tail of the board simultaneously. remember I said gag trick

New gag trick. Well, new for Japan I'm sure... I can't do a Dead Man cos none of my kites have stopper balls so I hold the bar with one hand and throw down... the Disco Man!

Imagine this but a soggy fat guy upside down. And you have to shout "Disco baby yeah!"

I started doing toe side backroll transition with a hand drag. I'm sure its not the first time anyone has ever done it but I still cant find video or have never seen anyone else do it and it feels hella smooth.
Heres a shot of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDuvBPEV ... ture=share

I guess you guys need to buy the DVD ;-)
All that stuff is on it!
And all I could imagine is on it...so no more tricks I haven't done while I am filming...maybe afterwards!

flybykite: that is a transition with a handslide 360...very cool trick!

jens: why gag? it is a cool one!

Well done :thumb:

I am myself a toeside addict when i comes to "transitions" on my strapped surfboard directional

I liked them all with downloops

Similar to what you do but in mid-air downloop kite by pulling bar in with forward hand

Toeside backs (air tacks w/downloop) land heelside

Toeside forwards (540 w/downloop) land heelside

Toeside jump into tabletop w/ downloop land heelside

Reason i like it is because i land with lots of speed and power

Of course all those 3 above transitions i also do from heeside and land them toeside

They are my 6 bread and butter moves

I like to time them just right and land them on wave faces as much as i possibly can :D

Ive recently been riding a 2 line set up on my kites and added a wrap handle on 2 pulleys a foot up the bar so i can throw "wrapped tricks" off of kickers. such as blenders. vids coming soon to kitesc0op. com :D
