Slingshot Misfit vs Slingshot Asylum

The asylum is definitely not just a boots board. I rode the 138 Asylum yesterday in the Solent at high tide & 20+knot with straps.

The board is smooth riding, feels light & lively underfoot & not like towing a bucket which you get on some high rocker boards, probably due to the concave in the bottom. It cushions the landings nicely & genuinely doesn't spray water! Its a very good free ride board & much nicer to ride than either the misfit or the lunacy of previous years. For me it's up in the Monk/Trax category in terms of how good it is as a free ride board.

If anyone wants to come over to Calshot & demo it alongside the new Monk/Jaime/Protoy etc just give us a shout.

I am a happy owner of a 134 asylum
this board rocks!
currently riding it with footstraps - and i must say its totally ok with it! huge pop, nice upwind, no face spray, comfortable landings and its realy fast !
tried it with joints - the board become even faster and pop become much more massive
cant wait to tried it with boots

can someone give me advice which size to choose?
Im about 65kg and the decision is between the 134 or 138...
It should work with straps and boots as well.
I wondering if 138 maybe is to big for riding with straps at my weight

138 if you want to use boots. They are bigger than straps and the xtra width helps. You can all so hold a lot more power down with them so a bigger board really is not bigger.

lets not forget that asylum is not a pure wakestyle board and has less rocker
i, personally, think that 134/40.8 will be more than enough for 65 kg even with boots
lets say 138 will gives a little bit extra low wind but, for sure, will lose in high end

i`m 75 - riding 134 Asylum, very happy with it starting to go upwind with my 2012 RPM 10 in about 6 -7 m/s

I would like to ask if anybody has actually put the board (or maybe you can do it now? ) on the scale to check how much does it weigh. I had a Lunacy 2010 that I loved but SS boards tend to be on the heavier side (2.6/2.8 Kg for board only and 1 Kg more for board + fins & pads/straps).

I was wondering if their new construction has really improved weight also..
