Regarding twin-tips... how do you choose your board sizes? What I want to know is, do you have a 'system' for deciding a good overlap between boards? Or do you just buy whatever you like
No, there's almost no chance for me to demo gear here

I am by no means an expert on twin tips, and have always looked down on them, as my roots lie in surfing.
Anyway here is my take on it:
1) Your weight : i weigh +-85kgs and am most comfortable on 138-140
2)your prefered riding style: I go for a general purpose TT and not a speciality board
3)the waters you ride on: chop or flat will influence the kind of board you go for
4)the average wind you ride in: the stronger winds the smaller you can go with the board and vice versa.
If you give us these details we can try an educated guess
Is this of any help ?

That's a damn good question. I don't have a system at all... total guess work... and wasting money trying to find something that works.
I'm 135lbs and I'm using a 128 x 38 TT in all conditions that I ride in ( 11 - 27kts ) higher if I get caught.
I'm finding that this board works better in lighter conditions than higher conditions which has totally surprised me. I thought it would be the other way around. So I'm stumped. When I'm at the high end of any of my kites I find this board getting harder to keep under control... I'm either going straight upwind or outofcontrol down wind... no in between in the stronger winds.
So I think I want a smaller board for high end of all my kites but I have no idea how much smaller I should go... narrower by a cm? shorter by a cm ... who the hell knows? It's a crap shoot.
Got a little side tracked but yeah is there a system out there anyone?
PS: I ride in fresh water and salt water, 99% of time its small chop odd time it's bigger chop (3'-4' maybe) with a flat water session here and there.

I rarely want to be on my only TT North Select 2010 40.5cm x 135 and i am 75kg
TT is only for when the wind blows offshore and i cannot ride the surfboard...and have to be a river rat
So if you are looking for system...lets say a 3 TT quiver...it would depend on your weight
People always refer first as the length...but i always consider first the width of a board then the rocker
If your body type needs the biggest TT for LW.....then 50x170
For moderate wind...then 45x145...........and high wind go for 40x135
Basically drop 5cm width between each board...and a bit more rocker as you drop down
Once again just a basic system...make sure you have the proper kite size that matches the board

flat rocker? by that do you mean very very little rocker? or rocker with no concave?
I need a cheap vacuum table so I can throw some ply boards together quick and work this board sizing thing out

flat rocker usually just means that there is not much rocker
at 65 kg i prefer:
a flat board around 131-133 by 40-41 (currently riding LF Nova 133x41) for riding straps / light wind / high wind / big waves
and a high rocker board for boots around 137-139 by 41-43 for flat water or a little chop with decent wind
i also pretend that im good at strapless, so I have a surfboard but don't really enjoy riding it.

at 80 kg
favorite size
Monk : 132 X 41
Supershinn : 135 X 41
King George : 144 X 49
My previous Nobile NHP was 132 X 41 also and before that I had a Caliber 131. I really do prefer a bit wider than longer; gets you going fats and sooner, also keeps you riding through the lull
