An answer from a kiter ,from another thread prompted me to ask and internally ask myself, just how many times out of a year do I ride.
Location, sessions and time of the year?
Myself, Nassau Bahamas, we don't get the trades so,Jan-May,average about 2-4 days a week June-November 1-2 days a month(yes I mean a month), Nov- Dec, 2-4 days a week. There are more days during the windy season I can ride but I am pinky
to be straight up, Nassau out of all the island is the shittiest for kiting you have places like Exuma and Cat lsland where you get the trades winds you can ride double sometimes triple everything I just stated.

Before 18m and raceboard I would get 50-75 days per year
With 18m and raceboard I get 100+ days per year

Where abouts are you from and what kind of wind you get going with that 18m and race board.

I believe there is another thread about exactly the same somewhere - try do a search
I often get +150 sessions per year (eventhough we are not out that much in the winther), so can not complain
Started doing logs from 2009 and forward - it only takes 10 seconds to write down where, when, what kitesizes, what boards, and what winddirection.

I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but from talking to friends it's probably pretty good for the Great Lakes region: 60 sessions YTD in the great lakes region + 4 sessions in Portugal in October.. largest kite is a 13m (I don't pack the 13 when I travel), I don't go for sessions where forecast calls for <14kn.. have other commitments (kids, job, errands). I do keep a log, on the phone (I've posted a screenshot of that previously.) takes a few secs to log pertinent details that I've actually had to reference to answer questions from kite colleagues who call to confirm the day that such and such happened for example.. or things like, when did we last hit this spot? I'm on the 10m switchblade below..

I'm in Virginia Beach. We are only 2.5 hours drive from the good spots in the Outer Banks, but we don't get nearly as much wind as OBX.
Almost every day in the summer we get between 8 and 12 knots sea breeze from around 4:00 til dark depending on the day. Other than that we get nothing from mid June to end of August. I used to get one or two sessions in per month in the summer, now 2-3 per week with the raceboard and 18m. That extra 3 or 4 knots on low end made all the difference for my location.

I havent logged my sessions but at home in BC summers I get about 60-70 days between May and October then in Vietnam I'm out nearly every day between November -March so just breaking 200 days a year. I still dream of living in some place like Hawaii where I go out every day kind of like some people go jogging daily I kite daily. Until then 200+ days a year will have to do.
