Aboards Z-series vs X-series

Postby Kober1974 » Mon Oct 08, 2012 5:52 am

Question for Aboards users out there ......
I am using 1012 Z-series 136 for a while now ...
I would like to know what would be the difference when riding X-series in same size ..... anyone compare those 2 at same time ??? how it feels ....??? When I benefit from dedicated freestyle board and what I be missing from Z -series ??
Now when 2013 models are out I am thinking about another christmas gift to my self ... lol ..

Thanks

Konrad

I have Z-series but i have tried X as well. X-series is a bit faster and more sporty which makes some jumps easier. If Z compares with X it is a bit slower and simpler, but since I'm not a professional it works for me. Actually i like both boards equally and at the end I chose Z because of design :D

I have the Z-series 2013 and the X-series 2012.

The Z-series is a super allround board, great to use at sea.
Good in chop, great pop, smooth landings.
Best in class for upwind.
But you allready know this.

The X-series is my favorite on a flatwater spot, but I have also used it at sea.
Very good for agressive riding, possible to use a wider stance.
U can use it with boots if you want to.
It is a bit stiffer then the Z-series, but has more rocker to smoothen you' re landings.
You' ll like it if you do unhooked a lot.

just took a look on these boards. looks yummy :) considering to change my Nobile 50 fifty to X or Z. Overall i like what my Nobile are doing, just one problem - it's too slow for me and could be better in the light wind. So can you guys recommend me which one of these 2 boards would be more like 50 fifty only faster?

The Z-series will be the best in lighter winds because of his flatter rockerline.

The X-series is a bit like the 50 fifty, but is a bit stiffer and faster.

A lot depends on you're riding style.

Freeride and freestyle = Z-series

Freestyle and wakestyle = X-series

Altough the Z-series has also a lot of pop, suitable for most riders.
