You think you go unhooked? The kite will pull up the hook in this setup, exactly the same way, so the problem remains...more so, what is the clicker in the pic I posted from the Mystic site, if not a version of the spreader bar for harness without the lower strap (i.e. Blazer)...
Experts, any idea how to re-enforce the pad or to stich better the webbing holding the spreader bar?
