Liquid Force CPR Control Bar Upgrading

Postby JimmyRyder » Mon Nov 18, 2013 6:20 pm

Hello friends,
As many of you may already know, most of the people using Liquid Force kites are not so satisfied about some aspects of the (prior to 2013) LF CPR Control Bar and that is:

1) Front lines Tangle – when doing Loops – corrected by LF this year by the addding the Swivel.

2) Depower Gear Assembly – the “Under-the-Bar” depower is kind of hard to use with the kite up.

In light of the above stated – I decided to eliminate with low cost changes some of the flows, so I am thinking to correct:

1) Line Tangle – by adding the 2014 Swivel

2) Depower System – I would like to know from any of you guys who have done a LF bar upgrade before, if it’s possible to change the Depower setting to an “Above-the-Bar” depowering – here I would like to ask your advice if is possible, how is possible and what do I need to make that change?!

After reading through forums, documenting myself on the net and studying the CPR Control Bar, I am thinking that the – Mutiny Depower Cleat looks like a good choice of change in my opinion .

I will add a picture to this email with what I am talking about.

Thank you for your attention and I look forward to your reply.

Sure can, but your bar will be wearing down a single line instead of two and you will have excess line hanging out of the cleat. Not a big deal... :naughty:

That Clamcleat is a stock item from Clamcleat or almost any marine supply store.

Dear "NYKiter" - thanks for the advise but as I seen on their site, the Mutiny bar has 2 line setting so it's almost the same as LF with the difference that Depower Trim is above the bar.

Here is how it looks:

Dear Oldnbroken - thanks for the info is really good to know that (cheaper option and more models to choose from).
As I seen they have lots of Clamcleats for many uses.
Did you get any from them?!
Which model type would work better for our purpose (kiting) ?
Thanks again for the info.

The CL826-11AN - Aero cleat with CL211 Mk2 (Hard Anodized) is the one that Mutiny and Ozone are using.

I have used the Cobra Cleat CL264AN in the past, and it is quite good.

I have used the CL253AN as well.

Here is the the link to the kitesurfing cleats
