I gotta say- I respect the involvement of the Epic on this forum and would like to see other companies create similar threads. It really is informative about the product.

I found the Triggers to be great kites 2010 & 2012 (MoMi designed) but found they do not pull through the turns compared to the Renegades, so I sold my Trigger quiver.
My right elbow is permanently screwed up from a skateboarding slam/break and some very mediocre surgery, but I have other stuff that hurts enough to not worry about my elbow...and I don't play tennis. I find the Prime to be the more fun Blade kite.
Of course, the Screamers are a whole different ball of wax, there seems to be nothing out there exactly like them.

Yeah, I didn't like 2012 Triggers that much - regular Screamers (not LTD) were better IMHO. But 2013 Blade Triggers and Fat Lady have improved so much - they fixed everything I had problems with. Bar pressure reduce, upwind improved, even pull in kiteloops is better (still not like Screamer, but I can be more aggressive with kiteloops on Triggers).
Anyways, you are right, Screamers are great, everyone should buy them (preferably from me :D ).

My 3G Screamer 10M LTD blew away my 2012 Trigger 10M...IMO.
Never had problems with 2010 & 2012 Triggers bar pressure or upwind, just lack of power in the turn.
I prefer the 3G S10 LTD's feel to the standard Screamer feel.
Personal preference for certain attributes often shapes perception of the overall kite, I think.

No way this is not 8 knots this is (BS) it looks more like 13 to 17 knots.....

Well I guess some people don't beleive it until they finally get their hands on the equipment. Also if you are looking into racing in very light wind conditions then you need to get the proper equipment such as the RACER from EpicKites and a Race board. If you want to have fun and do some free style or wave riding of have fun with friends in light conditions, then this is where the INFINITY v2 or v3 comes in.

Change of topic. About a month ago my buddy who rides Epic gear returned from his trip to Venezuela complaining that the trimmer on his bar stopped working - it simply wasn't holding anymore. So we contacted Dimitri and got it replaced - no problem here, great and responsive support as we're used to with Dimitri.

That being said, Yesterday, during a very gusty session where I had to be in the trimmer at least twice on every tack, the damn thing has stopped working on my bar as well, and this bar has about 20-25 outings on it so far... :angryfire:

As such, I can probably get another replacement, which cures the symptoms for a while, but doesn't solve the problem altogether - which is a 2cents piece of plastic. So I'm looking for a more permanent solution and some input from these who's already replaced their trimmers with something else. Given the simplicity of the whole thing - it looks pretty straight forward. A simple clamp-cleat trimmer from Ozone, North or even F-One should be pretty easy to adopt without any extensive custom work.

For Today's sessions, which is promising to be just as gusty, i've roughed up the teeth on the plastic buckle with sandpaper and sprayed the strap with a hair-fixative to make it harder to slide - will see how it goes...

Feel free to share your thoughts and experience.

Hello alexeyga and thank you for your post and inputs concerning the "Depower Stap" we use on our EPIC XTEND BARS. But you have to understand that we sold thousands of these bars since 2010 and so far maybe we had to replace +- 25 of these "Depower Straps". I actually personally had one of mine go bad also 8 months ago and I do test my bars until the end.
I also have few prototypes with the Clamp-cleat trimmer and it's not as easy to trim as the one we have now.
Maybe another solution will be to replace the plastic part that has the teeth on it with a new Stainless Still one. But this will require a new mold and more money to invest.

P.S. Can you email me so I can send you a new DEPOWER STRAP so you can replace the one you have.

Just got back from a week from Hatteras. I've been friends with Dimitri for about 4 years now and I received a personal invitation to come and demo a slew of new EPIC kites. When I arrived it in Nags Head it was only blowing about 8-11 knots and the beach was empty. Dimitri didn't hesitate to set up the Infinity 17m and within a few minutes I was the only one cruising the sound. For such a large kite it was very responsive and pulled like a horse. Was still able to throw some lofty air while everybody stood on the beach. I was using a 138cm and honestly could have been one a smaller one. Within 30 minutes I was completely lit and Dimitri already had a 14M Screamer ready for me. I was very impressed with this kite. I consider my self a decent kiter, being able to front roll, back roll, and kite loop transitions so I really was looking forward to putting this kite to the test. This kite sat nicely in the window and again, I was on my 138cm board with no issues. This kite screams "hang time" with nice air that allowed me to do some great rolls. No issues what so ever. What I was really impressed with is the light bar pressure and the ability to loop this kite effortlessly. I wanted to pull out my wakestyle board/boot and try that set up but I was having too much fun to get off the water. All said and done I rode this kite for over 4 hours and had a lot of fun on this kite. Afterwards Dimitri let me know that I also demoed the new bar that he foresees being out this June. Not having the opportunity to use the old bar I couldn't compare it to anything but to the bar I currently use. A night and day difference to say the least. The depower/power strap is easy to use, the new release system was easy to use and the bar felt comfortable in my hands. Dimitri also showed me his new wave kite he is working on. Not being a directional board rider, I didn't ride, but looks to be another popular kite. The day ended with another invitation to come and ride the following day which was forecasted to be a stronger wind day. I gladly accepted.

The following day the beach at Nags Head was much more crowded and I got to the beach before Dimitri and started to ride on my '11 Cabrinha Switchblade. Up until yesterday Switchblades were ALL I rode. I have a '11 16m, '11 12m and a '13 9m. I've been happy with these kites but have never really been able to get out of my comfort zone and try new tricks. I just always thought that all kites are so similar it wouldn't make a difference, so I stayed with the kites I learned on. Boy was I wrong. After quickly being overpowered on the 12m I landed on the beach with a eager Dimitri handing me the Screamer 10m Limited. He asked me to keep an eye for him on the beach, so he could wave me in when someone else wanted to use the kite. I fell in love with the performance of this kite. So much so that speed and reliability of this kite easily made me push my limits and I was doing powered loops in about an hour. Another kite that allows you to do lofty jumps and compliment that with rolls and twists. That with the responsive bar made timing jumps, tricks and soft landing much easier. I never noticed but Dimitri tried to flag me down several times and in the end I noticed hime waving a board to get my attention. While I cruised in, again he had another kite ready for me. I believe it was a 12m Screamer. At that point I was pretty much spent and just cruised with this kite. I parked it in the window and rode up and downwind with no issue. This kite however had the older bar and I could noticeably feel the difference. The new bar has lighter bar pressure, has a greater throw when you sheet it out and has a great feel to it. Not to say it disliked the older bar, which I didn't, but it goes to show EPIC continues to progress in all aspects of its products. All in all a fantastic experience with Dimitri and EPIC kites. So much so I have three Cabrinha kites up for sale, on EBAY as I write this.

I've always respected Dimitri and I've called him the most prolific kiteboarding brand owner, due to his stoke for this sport and especially the EPIC brand of kites, bars and boards. His mantra continues to be don't get big enough where you lose touch with your customers and be transparent
to the point he's willing to give you his personal phone number in order to hear what you have to say. I don't see Pete Cabrinha, Robbie Naish or other large name brand owners doing that. I look forward to riding a full quiver of EPIC kites.
