also flysurfer has a tt with a retractable fin. Still cannot compete with regular raceboards upwind.

I tried to imagine what the flysurfer board looked like as i was google-ing it :

As long as we have stuff like That coming out, i think a one design,
( at this state of our development ) ---
would be a BIG mistake.

**What if Ya did that retractable thing to the fins on a regular race board ?
**What if they could ,(cant / angle) rearward instead of retract, on a regular race-board ; like the
old windsurfers ?

yeah formula board would smoke it up wind, but still you have something very inexpensive that would smoke most sailing craft off the water . not sure if retractable fins are allowed in box/forumla rules - woudl be awesome for higher wind races/ blatting downwind fast , it's hard on a formula raceboard not so relaxing..

I dunno the new boards are a lot easier to ride on a reach. Depends a on the fins tho, but the newer boards aren't as crazy.
