I remember making eye contact with that creature. It had big brown eyes and black whiskers...very cute! I'm guessing it was a baby seal waiting for some salmon to run up the creek. 30 years ago this creek was dead, thanks to the many residents and metro for bringing it back to life.

so, anybody cares to elaborate on "a brand new profile shape"?

five full pages and no profile mentioning?

how it is different from previous trigger?

no wonder i have not seen a one blade kite at my place.....

Seems like the new profile was discussed in the product description.

What in particular would you like to hear or see about it?
I can take a photo of a section of my kite, but these wings need to be loaded in flight
before they take on the real shape.

Where is the shallow sea?

eree,
I think 'Profile Shape' means a side view of the kite. Imagine slicing the kite from the middle (LE to trailing edge) and then looking at the curvature of the kite.

Yesterday I flew the 9m on the wave/fast settings and focused on your question,
what is this new profile shape doing for me?
I noticed the light weight and narrow LE/struts make this a fast kite
that wants to fly right at the edge until you throw it around.
a natural at pointing upwind and speed on a beam reach.
Yet it really excells at charging down the line too.
This really had me notice the geometry and size of the wing tips.
They really are much larger and more reactive.
But they only react to your input and nothing more.
Gusts, wind shifts and falling from the sky...
this kite stays where you placed it until you want it to turn.
And when you want to turn it does not take much more than finger tip pressure
to execute precise patterns with an excellent directional feel through the fingers.

narrow entry and steeper and deeper= less drag and more reactive power and turning

Kite has a higher aspect than the 2012. Shorter in the main strut.

Anyone got a pic of there 2013 bar. Had kites for 5 weeks still waiting for bars.

After a lot of begging, pleading, groveling, crawling and then threatening i managed to get my hands on one of the pre production used bars complete with lines :)

yes yes i know how did i manage this? well if i tell you all my secrets i wont have as much chance to pull it off again next time the new stuff is up for grabs will i?!

the bar turned up and looks like it has been well and truly tested for quite some time like the Blade team has been telling me.
initial impressions after hooking the lines to my tow bar, hooking into my harness and pretending to kite for 15 minutes (yes there is no wind).

very comfy grip and bar shape, the slight angle really works
easy to use cleat for depower
nice new lines
overall its clean new look where the old bar did not seem to match up against the better known brands.

the swivel is an interesting piece, Blade told me they had a good part that could resist sand. when the bar showed up it was covered in sand (looks like its been through the bad treatment developer) i shook it off and sand fell out of the swivel but it still worked without jamming!

i will get back to you all after trying the bar on the water and will ask for permission on posting pics. one of my mates dropped over as i was kiting from my tow bar who rides a big name brand kite, he was very excited about this bar after letting him fly my van with it!

UK shipment should be with us in 8 days, I can only look at mine as off the run for 10 weeks following a knee op but will have demos available in S. Wales when they arrive and the wind returns!!
