Has anyone tried both the Ozone Reo and new Triggers to compare how they are in the waves? I have the 2011 Vertigos and still love them, but am looking for a smaller kite and am sure the trigger will be awesome. But I want to get more into wave riding and it seems the Reo is the kite that everyone raves about in terms of waves riding. Does anyone know what the Reo does well that the trigger cannot do too well?

I suppose I could just wait and try demo both, but I can save a few bucks if I pre-order, and I know the Trigger will not disappoint. I just don't know what I might be missing (if anything)?

Anyone that rode both?

I don't ride unhooked and looping only in low wind. Like the big air and old school.

the Reo is a dedicated wave kite, it lacks any real power but turns fast.

the Trigger beats it in all aspects except maybe drift capabilities, i think the Reo may drift slightly better. I use the trigger for wave riding, and freestyle and its kick ass for all activities!

can't comment on the 2013 version, but the 2012 trigger is an outstanding drifter...

Maybe one of the designers / testers close to Blade can comment on how the drifting has evolved?

the new triggers still have the bridle setting options as on the 2012, - standard and wave, in a strong wind I would be pulled off a wave face in standard setting but 20 secs to change the bridle and you have a kite that behaves impeccably on the waves not unlike Vertigo feel... like having two kites in one, you will not be dissapointed!

3 sessions now with the new 9m.
I am impressed by how much tactile input I'm getting from the kite through the steering lines
without any harsh bar pressure.
I wonder if the cone at the end of the LE, right at that pigtail is doing that.

Is there anywhere in the UK I can get a demo? (Im in Kent/Norfolk)

I'm after a new quiver for me and the missus. We've both been kiting since 2001 and our combined criteria are;

4 line
Good boost
Good upwind
Quick turning (and not this pause then turn wakestyle cr*p on a lot of kites now)
Bar pressure that doesn't require He-Man forearms.
Adjustable depower throw (I'm 6'3, wife is 5'3) - we may get two bars.
Safety you can actually re-load out to sea.

Essentially, something you charge around on a TT, mess around in waves, boost, dangle, loop and the occasional unhook (mainly oldschool though) and could be used for waveriding should I move anywhere sensible.

The trigger and unibar looks to tick a lot of boxes.

9m or 10m Trigger?

I'm 72 kg and my winds are either 16-25 knots or 20-28 knots for the two spots I ride.

I have a 2009 Caution Mayhem 9m which I find to be super under powered for a 9m (according to what others ride, this is my second season actively kiting coming up), I can't stay up win on it in less than 22 knots but I can hold it down in 35 knots without much issue. I've had it out in 40 knots gusts when others on 8m were getting blown off the water. So that's why I'm inclined to get a 10m Trigger, but perhaps the Trigger will be so much more powerful than my Mayhem I'd be better with another 9m.

For reference my other kite is a 12m bolt and I find I can hold it down up to 25 knots, but it's getting pretty hairy at that.

I don't have much interest in going out if the average wind is 40 knots or above at this point.
