Hi,

I'm seriously thinking going to Puerto Rico in February for some kite action. Has anyone been there, how is the wind in that month?
I was thinking to rent an apartment for that period in San Juan. Is car a must, because I want to see the whole Island and kite everything from flat to waves

If someone has some advices or has been there, please share your wisdom Thank you!

PR is cool. i have some experience with the NW end of the island (isabella - rincon). wicked kitesurfing going off all winter and cool scene (kind of semi- rural small town style, rincon is a nearby big town, but good food, party scene, and lots of cool places to stay).

E trade winds light in AM building into the PM, generally 20mph. i rode 9 mostly. medium to tough launches, shallow reef breaks, but tons of surfing in the am and kitesurf shred in the afternoons. head high and over likely that time of year. highly recommended. there is riding all over the island, but this is the only area i know.


PR is big, its 4+ hrs across, a car is essential if your tying to get around. bring roof rack straps.

Where to stay in Puerto Rico....I was looking at hotels, but they are quite expensive. Since some of us are still students, we want a budget accommodation Does anyone know for some nice apartments, they don't have to be near the beach, because will have a car.
So far, probably the best places to stay are around San Juan or Isabella?
