Never have heard about something like this. But this is good idea, looks really cool. Someone has tried it already?
Since skiing is my number one hobby in winters it's my dream for summers to try water kiteskis.

First kitesurfing was done on waterskis!
They look like trick skis, I had a set for my boat years ago

you can kite anything you can put your feet on, I think "On the Loose" had an episode where they were kiteboarding things like a kitchen tray and a piece of wood.

So you can kite on water skis, wakeboard boards, surfboards, whatever.

But there's a reason people prefer surfboards and twintips made specifically for kiteboarding, skis require you twist your board to hold an edge so it tires you out more and the kiteboards made for kiting have less rocker than a wakeboard so it planes easier.

In other words, go for it, have fun, but don't forget to try a regular kiteboard too.

damien leroy has been doing it for a while, it can be done if you have the right skis. i read an interview and one of the things that makes it difficult is you're usually edging on just one ski, so you have to make sure you are making use of the right areas.

my friends and i have tried a few things, it's fun to play around with other stuff but there's a reason why every kiteboard is pretty much the same rectangular shape, it's just what is the most efficient

Yeah sure it can be done. But I don't think you'll have more fun on the long run. Maybe after one session you'll prefer your twintip again.

Sometimes I take my feet out of the straps and I ride my TT like a monoski. Fun, but not anything more than that. You can sit on you're board too. Only it looks a bit wierd with just 2 feet popping out of the water haha.

Btw it was in Cape Sessions with Kevin Langeree and I think Nick Jacobsen where you saw them riding on a pan, briefcase and a piece of wood.

It looks like riding two boards!

Yeah, that's the one, Langeree comes across as such a fun guy in those episodes, plus he's an amazing rider.
