Been around for a while now... looks like fun - for a few minutes.

Meant to try it when we were in Thailand... but I was too busy trying to kite :D next time!

Looks stupid.
It's more of a touristic thing, As Kamikuza said - looks like fun for a few minutes and that's it.

They do let tourists rent them here. One of my students work at the place where they rent them out and they are pretty busy.

Costs too much $$$ for generating the energy.
Maybe in Venezuela this is possible.
In Europe you will be bankrupt within one summer.

Looks fun! High and hooked! ;-)

But I guess it pretty much hurts going from 4m height with speed head first into the water...

And yes, energy wasting...kite is sooooo much better!

Hi mate,

Where are you located? Hawaii?
I would love to do it. These guys are not tourists and I guess it is not as easy as it looks on the clip?
Has anyone done it?

Cheers

Rick Mercer did this on his show... If his pansy ass can do it, anyone can learn it in a matter of minutes. I think the theory of it is fun but in reality 30 mins of fun and you'd be done with it just like riding a jet ski.... Yawn.....

Looks like they are getting this thing dialed in.
The first four or five times I saw it on video, the people doing it were not doing much or going very high or doing the dolphin thing.
Never looked fun at all before, this video makes it look fun.
Still looks a bit restricting dragging a jetski around behind you, but more fun than knitting a blanket for grandma!

I think it looks awesome :thumb:

The "Dolphin" dives are amazing to see 8)

That does not mean I want to do it (myself - trying or renting is another ballgame) - just like it looks good to see a speedboat going close to 100mph, does not mean you want to do it (boring) :naughty:

Or going wingsuit diving close to a ridge - looks awesome and impressive, but still not something you wanted to do because of the short ride and lots of hazzle for this short ride (and some might find it too risky too).

Still - very impressive show IMO

:D Peter
