The La Ventana Kitexpo was put on hold for 2013 as we have outgrown the event site and need to find another crossing route. Testing that on 130+ people isn't a good idea plus we had some other issues that contributed to this decision.....
For 2013, two demo events will happen in Baja
Lord of the Wind Kitexpo Jan 14-15, Los Barriles
Participating companies will be demoing gear from noon to 5p near the Exotikite/Los Barriles Kiteboarding complex.
La Ventana Kite Demo Week, Jan 16-20, La Ventana
Participating companies will be demoing gear at various places during the week. Daily announcements will be made by 9a at
www.thekiteboarder.com and on La Ventana view newsletter RE: where the companies are. Some will be based out of Palapas Ventana, Captain Kirk's, Baja Joe's, Downwinder Inn, Ventana Bay Resort, Ventana Windsports and Playa Central while others will be at hot springs for the first downwinders of the day and will end with demos down by Baja Joe's/Ventana Windsports.
We expect about 10 companies to demo at each location. Burning Bush is Jan 19 this year.
For 2014 we have big plans to tie in the two Baja events. Bruce and his crew will kick everything off with Burning Bush January 11, followed by early week clinics in La Ventana January 12-15, then segue to the annual Classic and Kitexpo January 16-19. Depending on wind conditions, we will do a pro/vendor/invited guests only promotional downwinder for all interested parties from La Ventana to Los Barriles sometime between January 20-22, followed by Kitexpo demos at LOTW January 23-24, and ending with LOTW competitions, race and parties January 25-26.
