@tiago - yeah that is true.. i guess i mean 2 together
, 25 knots... 3 kites whole year... box rule with extra restrictions, no classic comp venues due to likely over 25 knots average... no prka prize money - riders will decide what is good for them and do whatever they want. Isaf may actually get some kiteboarding grass roots some day, but i can't see that happening any time very soon. njoi!

And for that, it needs the best upwind abilities (close hauled).
?
you put tatics in the game if everybody uses similar equipment, allowing similar speed, up-wind ability, etc.
you don´t need the absolute best upwind ability or fastest board. Anything goes if it goes at the same pace

not a bad thing if you ask me! great for the speed guys for sure. And also good for the course racers.
And the rest is not really affected, only that there is only one freestyle and wave title now...which is also good!

errr.. my point was not if it is a good or a bad thing
it is having a business driving the entire sport under a specific direction - kite as a sailing class - independently of what joe rider, pro-riders or the remaning industry thought just because they need a head-line for a commercial

Idealistic?
Olympics are chauvinistic crazes of nationalism and
insanely competitive individualistic extremism
this hurts young people even more than adults,
physically, psychologically and spiritually.
Any real ideal is damaged by nationalism
and competition.
Do you believe the "brotherhood" propaganda of Olympics?

If I did believe in it I don't any more... pretty hard to after this debacle.
At one time I thought they were guided by intelligent and well intentioned folks but now I'm not so sure.

Really?! What on earth gave you that impression?!
I really don't care that much one way or another about kiting being in the olympics, but I would say that the decision to include it for Rio seems to have been a bit premature.
