Hey I am just curious, where can you kite on a North Day in Wilmington (straight north, obviously not northeast).

You might be able to go south to Carolina Beach or Kure Beach and get good conditions. Check with a local kite shop for the best advice.

hey mz, i live and kite in wilmington and it frustrates the crap out of me when i blows straight N. Looks like we have a lot of NE on the way in the forecast right now, so keep your fingers crossed that the east stays in it. NE generally the north end of wb, cb or masonboro. But in straight N, the north end of masonboro is one of few sports that still works okay, cause it is away from the buildings on wb enough that the wind is pretty clean, and if it has a just a little west in it sometimes i will ride in the basin at fort fisher.

Basin at Ft. Fisher looks like it should technically work on a north too? I was thinking New River Inlet might be a good spot, ive been out there (not on a windy day) but it looks like the beach lines up nicely with a straight north...
