hey people, i have a litewave twin tip, 125 by 38 its a small board and can be a hand full in choppy seas, its excellent edge is what makes it a great board as it is convex bottom allows much more edging with actually fairly little effort, but i am having problems with the foot straps, it is a glued on pad with a single strap over the top, i was just wanting to get some opinions on what sort of foot straps are good or weather i should get a bigger board for the control.

\basically a little help with either new straps on the litewave or get another slightly larger board as i figure it will be feel a little more stable.

any ideas/opinions?

125x38 is a TINY board. How much do you weigh?

i weight 70kg, small board i know but it is a very good no problems getting on the plane unless there really is no wind, amazing edge and it is actually very quick, i can catch people with larger kites with this board.
im just looking at possibly a slightly larger board to help with the chop, plus i think i could get more pop with a larger board. also if i do go some where thats got sliders or rails i cant really do them with the litwave because of the bottom of the board, would just catch an edge or fin instantly.

The Litewave straps and pads are some of the most comfortable out there. I just don't like the design. The straps are only held on by foam and not connect any real support. The pair I had got destroyed because they just pulled apart from the straps pulling against the inserts. I talked to Litewave and said it was the glue and the issue was fixed. He warrantied them but I all ready had switched to the slingshot ones.

Most straps and pads are going to be pretty good now a days. It's more about how they fit your foot as they all seem very comfy.

As for the board really small for ya. By the way how tall are you? If your around 6' I would say get at least 135ish. This way you can take advantage of a wider stance. If not go at least 132.

Ocean Rodeo Mako 135cm would be ideal for choppy seas. I find they are very fast boards so you'll keep that aspect of your current board with a smooth ride on chop and comfortable pads.

I'm ~175lbs and ride a 140cm Mako as my main TT. They come in 130cm, 135cm, 140cm and 150cm so you can pick any size that seems good to you.

the litewave straps are ok, but im not keen on them now as they are liturally that on this board just a single strap over the top, ive been having trouble with simply slipping out as the strap wont hold my foot in, i have to duck my feet a lot to get the strap to hold on to my foot.
thinking new straps would do the trick.
but i would like the feel of a larger board, i did see a naish haze 135 that looked good, if any one has ridden one id like an opinon of it.

IMHO you should get a bigger board, and if it is pop you are looking for then the Mako wouldn't be my first choice...

Try testing a board in sizes around 132/40 cm
