12m dice vs 11m evo

Postby sustan » Wed Jan 04, 2017 1:51 pm

I guys, just sold my 2010 12m fuse, im looking to get a new "big kite", I have a 9 and 7 too so looking at the 2016 or 2017 models, I believe theres not a big difference from 2016 to 2017? I want to get going from 11-12knts, I weigh 83kgs

both of these kites apparently have a similar low end? can anyone confirm? Which do you think would loop better and be more "fun" to ride, better jumping?

I do mostly freeride, jumping with old school grabs etc. no waves and freestyle is only unhooked railey or something.
I wont really progress as i'm not able to kite that often...been doing the same stuff for years

Thanks in advance!

The new Evo will be much more like the older Fuse than the Dice would be, so if you liked the Fuse, get the Evo.

Go with a 12m Evo, it pickups right where a 9m Evo leavea off. The 12m Evo is amazing for light wind. I currrently teach on a 7,9,12m Evo quiver and I find the 12m to be the most impressive for what I use it for. I weigh 250 and my students weigh from 110-240. All have walked away impressed with that 12m in light light light. I wosh North would make a skinnier LE for the 12m, the design handles light wind beautifully courtesy of the pivot style turn on the Evo. I really feel they solved the problem of balancing responsiveness and turning on larger kites with the 12m evo using a pivot (altho not as pivoty as a Naish Pivot). While still cranking some power thru the turn so that working the kite cranks power.

In larger sizes, 12m + the Open C kites like Dice, RPM, etc are not so hot. An 11m Evo would be a little bit gruntier than a 12m Dice altho you are close on power levels. In smaller sozes for higher winds I become a huge fan of the Dice.
