Good detective work, SupaSupaEZ wrote:Dr LW ...this is the Patrick Air Force Base windmeter reading just a few miles upwind of Dimitri
Wind was SSW 200 degrees...that is why the ocean is so glassy...i should know i live here 30 years
He was out between 2 and 4 pm.........just check this Ikitesurf link below
So we see clearly that the wind was always more than........... 10 mph
This ain't Kitty Hawk.......those are government's wind meters....very accurate

As several previous posts have suggested, it should be EASY to test the "2-4 knot" claim by putting up the kite (any kite for that matter) in a school hall or similar (doesn't have to be on 22m lines) and walking backwards at the standard walking velocity of 2.7 knots.Dimitri M wrote:3 to 6 knots
Ha! Since when did wind meters become accurate? I can't even begin to count the hundreds upon hundreds of sessions where the wind was no where near what the forecast was projecting. Either stronger than forecasted or as usual...much lighter than what was forecasted.SupaEZ wrote:Dr LW ...this is the Patrick Air Force Base windmeter reading just a few miles upwind of Dimitri

Your recent Kiteforum sign-up is a bit suss Your pro-Epic propaganda and writing style is amazingly similar to someone v close to Epic (just saying) Also, your efforts to disguise your persona by vicious swearing (other threads), deliberate but inconsistent spelling errors, and sexual innuendo is concerning. An IP check, covering all 28 of your posts (given you are currently travelling), could be revelatory.Kite2Heaven wrote:PMU - you really are stupid if you are resorting to walking backwards with a kite !!!
Since when has any kite in History been tested and approved by a team of experts as a true representation of wind strength 'other than those blowin out there ass'..
And since when has any kite brand ever, called up an airbase / Naval or government facility when there soughting out wind range tests for your favourite kite - can you guess what they hold in there hands ??? Probably not from your mentality ! Also can you please explain to me why at the local Nav base about 4 km down the beach they had 15-24 knots but we only had 7- 10 on three hand held windmeters different brands. !!! So you can kiss your more or less theories goodbye because its always adjusting to suit huh - idiot ! If theres at least two handhelds on s beach... then thats good enough and 100% local to that spot !! Otherwise "ALL" wind readings are BULLSHIT just like yourself !!
Haha, yeh - I'd be the first to agree that readings from handheld wind meters at ground level are near meaningless in light winds. But you have to give a bit more credence to official government weather station readings: Their meters are well calibrated, well maintained, and set at a standard 10m above sea level. If they are well situated geographically (i.e. reasonable wind fetch), they generally are pretty accurate.Kiteus Maximus wrote:Ha! Since when did wind meters become accurate?
Don't edit down my post and take it out of context. The point of my post was that SupaEZ was making an absolute statement which I exposed as errant based on his false suppositions. I provided relevant data from those same sensors which showed a much different forecast than SupaEZ which would support Dimitri's claim regarding his wind readings today.Pump me up wrote:Haha, yeh - I'd be the first to agree that readings from handheld wind meters at ground level are near meaningless in light winds. A review of your posts would show two consistent factors, your IP address is always the same, and you are always being a dousche.
