Actually, while we're on the topic: In many ways, Epic's claims about the Infinity are DISRESPECTFUL to MOMI. MOMI designed the Blade as well as the Infinity. This is what EPIC had to say about the Blade:

Why did Momi design an inferior kite for Blade? I honestly think this claiming your kites are superior to everyone else's will only backfire. If it is better at one thing then it will be worse at something else, most people appreciate that kite design these days is about finely balanced trade-offs NOT one kite being better than another.

He might just have figured something else out after designing the blade... a new idea perhaps... stuff like that can happen... people improve their designs over time... people get better at stuff with practice. Doesn't sound disrespectful, he just said the v2 power is the same (that's possible) and V2 turns faster (possible). Didn't really elaborate on the V3 but you get the impression there will be improvement and that it could send you to the moon. Kinda like other adds you read for kite gear... there's nothing really new there. So I don't know why you're jumping on him for that post.

Every product out there is "new and improved" for the past 50yrs  You must have find it hard watching tv.... the adds must send you into fits of rage

This thread is not about hating, its about BS marketing!
No other company spews BS out like this, if you are going to, you need to back it up legit!
The product is not the hated material, the product is great, it may not fill everyone’s need but most. Quality is great.
But claiming BS crap that they do takes away credibility.

Momi is defiantly one of the best designers in the industry, no one can question that.

But as far as being a real player in the market Epic will never be with the over the top BS.
They have good people using there gear, but not many in the big picture.
And yes time will tell!

Epic could have been a real player. They will sell gear but never like a mainstream company.

But there should be no hate , and the goon squad needs to realize this is about claims made that are not true, nothing else. The guys calling out have a very legit claim.

This has been fun to read!

We tested some big kites here.
The Infinity turns faster than the Fat Lady...buddy of mine tested his Big Mama against Fat Lady, Big Mama turns much quicker.
Another buddy owned a V1 Infinity.
A handful of us tested V2 Infinity when it was here for demo.
Big Mama and Infinity turn very similarly, the Fat Lady must have too tight a dress on.
The SS Turbine that I flew had gobs of power, terrible depower, not a kite I would want to own, one of our locals ended up dragged into the rocks with this one.
Zephyr has more top end than most of the rest of these and turns slower than some.
Big Mama is a nice kite, Infinity is a nice kite, did not like the Turbine, Zephyr is a nice kite.

For those who feel that there is hate going on....you are wrong
We are simply pointing out the obvious flaws of the Infinity BS marketing

Momi should blow away Epic Infinity V3 by making a Fatter Lady...
....clearly marked on wingtip....monster size 19

didn't someone say you couldn't do any tricks on the Infinity? Picked this up in the other thread... nice moves for light wind. No mowing the lawn here.

 That is not big :allbegood:

I made my Core Riot XR2LW 19m2 turn and loop just as quick as the V3 in light winds
With my leading edge settings at superlight bar pressure and superfast wave style turning

When i flew the V3 i could not make it turn faster or better than my kite
I can just imagine how slow his kite would turn if he would have added 5m ext. for 27m
I can just imagine how fast my kite would have turned if i would have taken off my 3m ext. to 24m

In summary the V3 is not faster at turning / looping and changing directions during transitions
Plus it has less power in all wind speeds...goes less upwind in all wind speeds
Less low end and less top end
Less heights in jumps / transitions and less hangtime

I never like to settle for less especially when more is available when it comes to light winds

We have two 19's at my beach now and soon 2 more (one will sell his SP3 21 & other his Dyno 18)
So soon four 19m2 and zero Infinity in sight now or ever...
V3 does not have a chance against us staying upwind in the surf with drift ,whitewater and currents
All my friends will totally kill it on the 19

Are you all enjoying my same song and dance :bye:
