Fantasy KSP Winners Announced Following World Tour Finals On Maui

header_Maui_fantasyleague.png
Kahului, HI – December 9, 2012: The final day of the Ho’okipa Kite Surf Pro saw first-time KSP World Tour event winners and some major shake-ups in the world title race. Following yesterday’s finals on Maui, official results for the 4th and final round of the 2012 Fantasy KSP powered by Fantastar.com have now been determined.

The Ho’okipa Kite Surf Pro saw regular footers dominate the men’s podium in the only contestable right-hander on this year’s KSP World Championship tour. With the 4 top ranked riders heading into the Ho’okipa Kite Surf Pro all faltering in the quarterfinals or earlier, the event and World Championship title were suddenly opened up to the three 5th place ranked men, who coincidentally all happened to be regular footers. When the smoke cleared, standing on the men’s podium for the first time this year were Keahi De Aboitiz (AUS, Cabrinha) 1st, Mitu Monteiro (CPV, F-One) 2nd and Guilly Brandao (BRA, Best) 3rd. With this incredible come-from-behind victory, De Abotiz claimed his first ever KSP World Championship tour victory.

The female world title race remained relatively unchanged with the exception of world number 4 Kirsty Jones (GBR, North) trading positions with world number 5 Milla Ferreira (BRA, F-One). While KSP World Tour front- runner Jalou Langeree (NED, Naish) secured her first ever KSP World Title on Maui she was defeated in the Ho’okipa Kite Surf Pro women’s finals by on-fire local wildcard Moona Whyte (HI, Cabrinha) who came out of left field, taking KSP Fantasy players in a surprise attack and establishing herself as a top contender for the 2013 season.

Fantasy KSP players displayed remarkable expertise in selecting winning teams by choosing riders most suited to the powerful right handers at Ho’okipa. As one could expect, forehand power surfing dominated the competition on Maui’s north shore.
The results and corresponding prizes are as follows:
1. Pasty Power (Two Nights for 2 at Hotel Wailea)
2. Rebels (Naish Kites Back Pack)
3. Kunkelii Strapless Surf (Best Kites Laptop Sleeve)
4. Crap Surfing (Cabrinha Kites Hoodie)
5. 1st Place Losers (North Kites T-Shirt)
6. Rabbit Gang (ION T-Shirt)

A special KSP Fantasy prize is also awarded to the overall Fantasy KSP player winner for the 2012 season:
1st Place Losers (Naish Wake Skate)

The winners will be contacted via e-mail for further info on how to claim their prizes.
