Yeah, the team thing is a good idea. That way, you're guaranteed to have your mind blown by someone. A specialist is always better at his discipline. And you could tune in for the part that interests you, and maximize your enjoyment factor. I could sleep through a wakestyle competition, but big air and styled out grabs, I could watch a whole lot of that before I got bored.

Team event could be Sick
But probably the teams will be made up of brand team riders.
Then again, a competition between brands can also be cool.
F1 has a category for team and a category for driver.

That's not different I kite like that all the time. Then I wake up! But it is what I aspire to except the wake style too old for that. Shame.

Good one wozzy!
We had a team cup in 2011 with new and oldschooler and woman.
Great mix, great fun! The people loved it.
The organizers did a poll with the spectators...95% preffered oldschool.
Off course...nothing new!
They did a KTE this year...and I can only guess why they want a teamcup in 2013 again
Anyway, lots of formats around which can spice up comps!
The Kite Show Cumbuco 2009 was also really cool...7 different disciplines.
Great fun for riders and spectators! And we had more people watching it then the worldcup that followed directly after the show...

to give an alternate view - to me that IS what the pkra DID look like back in 2004
riders and spectators got bored with that - things moved on to what you see today
just my opinion - but I think 2012 has been the most watchable PKRA - so much power and style in the men's AND womens - been great to watch

The really high end of both the surf and wake stream of riding are so far beyond the reach of the vast majority of kiters that it disconnects from what many want to watch. Didn't help that the PKRA looked like shock therapy at the epileptic ward for a few years there.
I gotta agree with the previous poster. That was the PKRA in 2004
Competition riding is never as fun to watch as a collection of freeride clips. Head to head heats can be like watching paint dry, where a freeride sessions can make much better spectating. As soon as you put it on a point scale its going to take away from the flow of great riding as the riders looking to win are gonna take all the chill smooth moves out of it and focus simply on setting up the big score maneuvers.

yes, competition is always a lower level than the videos, due to the non perfect locations (well, at least New Caledonia looks awesome!)
Spectators got bored with that? Do you mean the riders watching themselves? True, but not the average joe and non kiters.
Read what I posted before...the poll of spectators was 95%...
But, future will be interesting...let's see what happens!
