Perianal hematoma

If you don't know what this thread is about, perhaps you don't want to Google it...

For the last few years I have been battling a problem that I only recently discovered is due to kitesurfing. Whenever I have a rigorous session kiting, I develop perianal hematomas which can be very painful and is sometimes required to be surgically removed.

I think this began a few years ago when i started getting into more progressive riding: strapless, boots and c-kites. I usually try to ride efficiently and underpowered for unhooked and I think the problem is that I am usually 'straining' to get upwind and hence where the problem arises.

i'm wondering if it is possible to fix my technique. this is probably a very strange topic to some of you but i wonder if anyone out there can offer some insight? if not, it's going to be a very sad day for me to go back to freeriding and kiting occasionally :(

cheers!

Having had some similar issues in the past, man I can tell you this is not
pleasant! It affects everything you do.Thank christ mine went away after a
few weeks with some ointment. I had a friend who had to go and get them
surgically removed. Maybe try to use your legs and core more without
straining, kind of hard to do without bearing down. I dunno, hope you find
some way to treat this. extremely uncomfortable.

I would recommend:

A tablespoon of psyllium fiber mixed in a half cup of greek yogurt each morning.

Plenty of water to drink.

Do not use psyllium and docusate sodium at the same time (it swells into a big clog that is difficult to pass)

Avoid racing bicycle saddles.

Walk for exercise every day.

Get a good butt-plug.

We have had a chat over email, and I really think what I have said will work.

Let us know how it goes and good on ya for putting out there what can be a sensitive issue to discuss. I get ribbed all the time by my bro, keeps me real. Lol.

Been lamenting the dirth of worthwhile topics around this joint and this "pops up".

Go with Ozzy's advice and start riding a muttant.

C'mon, man! Help the guy. He doesn't want to quit kiting. Anyone who is from a medical background or physical therapist, or exercise training should try to post something here.

You said you thought you were straining to go upwind. Please explain this more. Maybe if you can give some more information someone can post a few more suggestions that will help.
