Peter i own a surf shop i kite in 2to 4 meter waves any day there wind,i can go upwind as good as most, there 4 surf schools next to my shop, some surf boards are better at getting upwind and wave riding, when wind is bang on shore a good upwind surfboard is important, cross shore i can use a gun type surfboard.a gun type surfboard is useless when its bang on shore,TONY

north wham is the best, but i think whip may be better for on shore wind,to be honest i have a shit load of surfboards, but its good to get other kitesurfers input what board they are using for similar conditions,i like 19 wide max 5,4 to 5,8,thats why i think firewire hellfire might be good for onshore winds, thanks TONY

seems to me you but a SURFboard for how it goes on the wave, not upwind
who cares if you can 4 or 5 extra waves if the ride is bad
one good wave ride will make it all clear
Irish ksp airton used whip over wam or kontact, for onshore, hey but what would, he know,he should have asked you,TONY

you really want to compare one of the best in the world during a competition to the rest of us free riding,
besides he could ride the front door to a house and make it work
