Booked a trip to Mexico, did I make the right decision?

I just booked a trip to Cancun from 19:th of january to 19:th of march.

Question now is if I made a good choice? Is it kiteable on the east coast during that time?

I went to Boracay last year and I think it was pretty shitty, so I hope that Mexico will be better... anyone who can tell from experience?

I guess that it would have been a good thing to ask this question before I booked the ticket.... but well... whatever :)

If it's warm, there are beaches, beautiful water & margaritas...then you made the right decision :jump: :jump: :jump:

Went to Riviera Maya (very close to Cancun) in March 2 years ago. Had good wind for a 12 m kite 4 or 5 days out of 7

Goode luck

And where are the best places in terms of kitesurfing, cheap accomodation, WiFi etc...

I´m thinking of going to Tulum.

If you go to Tulum, there is a school down there Extreme Control on playa paraiso for flat water. For waves go to playa azul.
If you stay in Cancun, then the best kite spot is Isla Blanca, flat shallow water, or Playa Nizuc. all other beaches too many TOURISTS baking in the sun!!

Happy Kiting!

Ok, thanks for the info =)

Do you think a 9m and a 12m kite will be enough for the wind conditions?

In my experience that would certainly cover virtually all days there unless you weigh 40kg :D

Edit: That assumes that 12m is your biggest kite. If you've got something bigger than a 12, take it!

I usually only get my 9m kite out about 10 times a year total. My 12 and 14 get taken out much more frequently.
So if you have 12 and something else bigger and gonna bring only two kites that would be best!
