What is the lightest weight lightwind board for a 117lb 5'6" rider?
I would like the board to be 139-ish x 45-ish

I wouldnt know about weight, but the Epic Oxygen v2 135x47 really suprised me. i get a lot of low end with it and the board remains playfull. Maybe you can check it out.

Why are you looking for lightest weight? If it's for better lightwind performance, I don't think the board weight makes any difference.

At your weight, a medium sized skimboard.
Light weight - no fins - no foot straps.
Also great upwind, and more fun than a door.

Whaooo hogstedt you are a very light individual. The OXYGEN v2 (135x47cm) light wind board is an amazing Twin Tip board. Every body that has tried the board felt in love with it because of the way it felt in the water. Very alive and responsive for a light wind board.
But I don't think the OXYGEN v2 will be a great board for you because of your light weight. Since it's 47cm wide you might have difficulties in edging when the wind picks up to 14 knots. But again if you are interested to demo the board you can always test it and see if the OXYGEN board is the right board for you. My email is: dimitri@epickites.com

P.S. And YES, the weight of the board for light wind conditions makes a big difference if you plan to play with it and do all these tricks especially in such light wind.

I've got a custom 120 x 40 board that is unreal in light wind. We call it the "lunch tray". It has a tiny bit of rocker and fairly boxy outline. I put the simplest dakine pads and straps on it, small 3/4 inch fins, and the board is super light...it's a lot of fun in flat water but tricky in any kind of chop. I also have another custom 120 with more rocker, more flex, tapered tips and that board is also extremely good in light wind and weighs next to nothing...I weigh 70kg/160 lbs so for a lightweight rider such as yourself these boards would obviously work even better in light wind.

Maybe not the lightest board but my 140x44 cm Cyclone does a very good job. I use it mostly with my Turbine 17 and Kahoona 11.5. And when I'm powered with my 11.5 I don't feel that I need to switch to a smaller board. The straps is centre offset, and it's easy to hold the edge even when the wind picks up a bit. Some spray though, but chop is not a problem. The Armada 135x40 (in the same photo) is nice for high wind but after I got the Cyclone it's rarly used.

Thanks for the responses everyone. =)

I want it to be light in weight because im not strong and have trouble carrying my own board when walking up the beach (aka walk of shame)

Also, I kite in Belmont Shores, CA where there is some chop...behind the breakwater.
