I recently bought a 2012 airush protoy 135cm... great board and often over looked... but any one find this quite a slow board ? (in chop and flat water just seems a bit sluggish)
I was previously riding a 2009 airush xpact 132cm and the x-pact was way quicker, and much better bottom end. Probably due to the x-pact being a fair bit stiffer, the 2012 protoy is really flexible and has very bendy flex tips.
any other riders thoughts appreciated.. strangely my 132cm is now my low wind baord and the 135cm the high wind board
thanks

I have not sailed these boards myself. But lets see if we can get the discussion started...
But I think it sounds like the protoy has more rocker. this will give it many good properties, but speed, upwind and low end will suffer.
Accept these things, be a little more powered and you will find all the good things that comes with a fair amount of rocker.
Regards Poul
